The high school soccer season is set to resume in the Philadelphia area but before the official games kick off there's been some intriguing preseason matches to check out. Kennett hosted one of those when 2022 state finalist Springfield Township came to town on Tuesday.
The match was closer than the 4-1 score line would suggest and featured a number of standout players on both sides but ultimately Springfield Township's skill at moving the ball won out. Riley Martin, the team's leading goal-scorer, impressed in limited action and Nick Hanushchak looks poised for an even bigger junior season pulling the strings in the midfield. Central midfielder Wes Presnell and attacker William Lopez-Luna stood out for Kennett on the day.
