I was at the Campbell Road Sports Park, in Houston, on Saturday, to follow the ECNL Girls Texas Conference encounter between the Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL G07 and DKSC ECNL G07 – check out our photo gallery of the match.
Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL G07 3 – 3 DKSC ECNL G07
Playing at home, Albion had the initiative in the first minutes and benefited from a good play from Abigail Ross Abigail Ross null | M Episcopal | 2025 State TX , who drove down the left flank and fed Kamrynn Davis Kamrynn Davis F Cypress Ranch | 2025 State TX , who scored with a left-footed finish. DSKC equalized not much later, when Mckenzie Jones Mckenzie Jones F TX redirected a throw-in with her head to Emma Chavarria Emma Chavarria M TX , who hit a beautiful one-time shot from outside the penalty box. Right before the halftime whistle, DKSC’s outside back Abigail Santos Abigail Santos D Duncanville | 2025 TX got on the end of a cross and found the back of the net with a left-footed finish.
Right at the start of the second half, Kaydee Amorosa Kaydee Amorosa null | M St. Agnes | 2025 TX was taken down inside the penalty box and Emma Lovell converted from the spot to even the score at 2-2. Later, the situation repeated, with Amorosa drawing a penalty kick and Lovell burying it to put the hosts ahead. Near the end, Isabella Larson Isabella Larson 5'9" | F Flower Mound | 2025 State #152 Nation TX picked up the ball after a confusing play inside the penalty box and sent it to the back of the net, scoring DKSC’s third goal.

Emma Lovell
Lovell played a central role in the match’s outcome as she had the responsibility of taking two penalty kicks for Albion and converted both, displaying great calm and quality on the ball. She also had some good moments with set pieces, taking a couple of dangerous free kicks into DKSC’s penalty box. She also played a solid match in her main role of defending, displaying good chemistry with fellow center backs Kennedy Reed Kennedy Reed null | D Seven Lakes | 2025 State TX and Tessa Dabney Tessa Dabney D St. Pius X | 2025 State TX .
An offensive-minded outside back, Ross started the match very well, bombing forward from the left and contributing to the team’s offense. She made an excellent play before assisting Kamrynn Davis Kamrynn Davis F Cypress Ranch | 2025 State TX in Albion’s first goal and had other good moments in the attacking third. A right-sided player, Ross was great when bringing the ball inside and creating room for her teammates to explore near the sidelines. She wasn’t as active in the second half, but did some good defensive work during the entire match.
Playing as an attacking midfielder, Amorosa used her smart movement and her ability to operate in tight spaces to draw two penalty kicks for Albion. She circulated very well around the penalty box and displayed a good connection with forward Camryn LeTellier Camryn LeTellier 5’6″ | M Ridge Point | 2025 TX , feeding her with good through passes. Near the end of the match, Amorosa was moved to Albion’s backline and did a fine job helping the team partially contain DKSC’s late push.
A Mexican U17 international, Santos displayed great quality for DKSC at left back. She didn’t push forward a whole lot, but made a major impact when she did, scoring the team’s second goal right before halftime after a very smart run off the ball. Santos displayed great quality on the ball on the backline and around midfield, getting good dribbles in tight spots and connecting good passes with her skilled left foot. She also handled well her defensive duties and spent some time at center back too.
Highlights
Chavarria was electric in midfield and was very active in possession, supporting DKSC’s offense. From her central midfield position, she was great at creating space with quick moves and also displayed great quality and vision with her passing, often connecting efficient one-time passes to break pressure. She scored a very beautiful goal, hitting a perfect one-time finish into the upper corner. Chavarria had some other good plays down the middle, but couldn’t find the back of the net again.
Larson spent most of the match playing forward and displayed good skills around and inside the penalty box. Her movement off the ball was great as she was paired with a physical striker in Mckenzie Jones Mckenzie Jones F TX and knew exactly how to benefit from the attention her teammate demanded to find pockets of space to get on the ball. She scored the equalizer in the very last minutes by using her positioning to get a loose ball and finish well. Larson also spent some time at center back and played hard, with a lot of energy and winning most of the duels she was involved with.
