Below is a scouting report on some of the top defenders and goalkeepers from 2027.
Best 2027 GOALKEEPERS from Georgia
Jamieson is a goalkeeper on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. I don’t see any YNT call-ups in her player history, but she is clearly at the level of a Talent ID type of player with the promising potential to get a look among a larger group. Jamieson’s game is well-rounded for her position. Her teammates have confidence in her and do not shy away from using her feet as an outlet. Jamieson’s key attribute to me is her strong technical foundation. She doesn’t have to make a ton of “big” saves because she moves her feet well and gets into the positions to make the comfortable save. She is fully capable of the diving effort to block out a shot to the upper corner too. There is a lot to like about Jamieson’s game. She might lack some of the accolades of the other keepers in this class, but the game film shows she is among the best in the position in the region.
Highlights
Leonard-Myers is a goalkeeper on the GSA 08 ECNL team. She is 2027 playing with the 08s. Leonard-Myers stood out from game film to me for her distribution. She has a strong leg and can hit accurate passes well over 50 yards away. As a shot-stopper, her footwork is good. She does a good job of moving laterally and keeping a strong base to get ready for diving saves. Leonard-Myers has good hands too and can secure the ball in traffic on crosses. All of the tools are there for a standout at the position at the next level.

Best Center Backs from Georgia’s 2027 Class
Dommert is a defender on the Atlanta Fire 09 ECNL team. She plays as the right center back for her club team. Dommert is involved in a lot of the play for her team because she also takes set pieces. She sends in an excellent service from dead ball situations. She is a good defender. Reads the game well and is in the right spots. She plays on the right but looks comfortable passing out of pressure with either foot. She has big time potential. Her athleticism jumps off the screen from game film at the 09 level.
Jean-Baptiste is a defender on the UFA 09 ECNL team. She plays as the right center back for her club team. She has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. Jean-Baptiste has the potential to be the best player in this class. She’s an incredible athlete with limitless potential. She has the skill on the ball to dribble past players with ease. She is a good defender at reading passes and does well getting into the way of attackers. One aspect of her game that could improve is her 1-v-1 defending. Her hips can get square in the point of contact and she gets turned by forwards who recognize the opening. If she keeps an athletic stance and keeps a better defensive posture, she will have an easier time of dealing with speedy forwards. Jean-Baptiste’s quality is undeniable and she is a major reason why UFA is unbeaten on the season.
Singer is a defender on the Atlanta Fire 09 ECNL team. She plays as the left center back for her club team. She is a weapon in the attack too as a target on set pieces. She recently scored a goal on a header off a corner kick. Singer is a solid defender. She is a bit of a ball hawk and likes to play off-man as a center back so she can attack the ball out of the air on clearances. She is aggressive in getting the ball forward and tends to look for direct balls. Singer could improve in bringing the ball down and retaining possession for her side when she has time. The potential is there for a top level college defender, which makes Singer one of the top center backs in this class.
Best OUTSIDE BACKS from Georgia’s 2027 Class
Burrus is a defender on the Tophat 08 GA Gold team. She plays right back for her club team. Burrus regularly has her name on the scoresheet for her club team. She is a very active two-way player. Tophat is dominant at the regional level for their league and it does allow Burrus to take some risks going forward. She is smart about when she does the charging run forward and efficient too. When Burrus is in the attack, she is going to create chances. She’s an excellent defender and been a real bright spot of the Tophat defense this season.
Bennett is a defender on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. She plays outside back for her club team. Bennett impressed scouts this season with her consistent play. She confidently stepped into that role and has done exceptionally well. She is a two-way player. A good passer up the line, Bennett allows the winger to get opportunity 1v1 in dangerous spots. She also provides cover and can lock down her side of the defense.
