The programs in this league have legacies of excellence, and to be among the standout players during the week really says something about that player’s performance. Here are four girls who stood out last week.
Maya Abughosh, Forward, Campolindo, Class of 2025
Abughosh leads the league in game-winning goals, as she picks big moments to score. She can also score them in bunches, scoring two in a recent 7-0 win over Berean Christian. The 07 Magic player is very fast, very technical and has a great shot from just about anywhere.
Tess Manning, Central Midfielder, Benicia, Class of 2025
Benicia was searching for its first league win and Manning provided it. She scored two goals, but more importantly set up the game-winning assist in the 4-3 win over Miramonte. Manning is a player who is solid on the ball, good when defending and shows great ability to be a scoring threat when moving forward.
Nicole Nguyen Nicole Nguyen F Acalanes | 2025 CA , Forward, Acalanes, Class of 2025
Nguyen helped the Dons draw level and earn a point against Las Lomas, contributing the assist on both goals in the 2-2 draw. Nguyen is an incredibly talented player, one who is extremely technical. When she receives the ball, or is on the ball, it seems to just stick to her foot. She’s excellent 1v1 and taking on defenders and operating in space, and she’s turned in to an excellent passer of the ball as well.
Paige Thompson Paige Thompson null | M Las Lomas | 2025 State #70 Nation CA , Midfielder, Las Lomas, Class of 2025
It is well documented at this point how prodigious the talent is that Thompson possesses. She is committed to the University of Alabama, and is quite simply one of the top players in the entire Bay Area. She can play anywhere, shows incredibly technical ability and vision. She really just seems to do everything well in every aspect of the game. She recently scored on a tremendous half volley in a key DAL game against Acalanes to help the Knights secure a draw.
