Marin County is home to a great amount of girls soccer talent, with some of the top teams in Northern California calling the Marin County Athletic League their home. This strong league produces elite college level talent, and every roster is going to offer players who are worthy of praise. Here are four recent standouts.

Analiese Engler, Striker, San Marin, Class of 2025

Engler scored two goals for the Mustangs in a game against Terra Linda. The junior is a No. 9, who has the ability to take on defenders, or hold up play and make good runs after finding her outlet. She has good speed, strength and technical ability.

Sarah Farese, Forward, Redwood, Class of 2025

Farese is a very athletic and direct wide forward, who plays with a relentless energy and passion. She likes to get after defenders, whether going directly at them when making runs or pressing high when they are in possession. She is the leading goal scorer for the Giants, scoring two goals in a recent win over San Marin. She scores in a variety of ways, and is very strong with her head making her a threat on set pieces.

Sonia McKenzie, Forward, Terra Linda, Class of 2024

The senior forward for the Trojans had a goal and an assist in a win over San Marin. McKenzie is a leader for Terra Linda, and does everything well. She can find open players, makes very good runs and is good with the ball at her feet. Unselfish, she will set her teammates up as often as she goes for goal.

[player_tooltip player_id='111336' first='Lauren' last='Willard'], Forward, Tamalpais, Class of 2027

In a very big win over Redwood, Willard scored the only goal. The freshman is a great athlete who also works very hard. She has come in as a freshman and made a big impact through hard-work to go with her abilities. She can play up top, she can slide back into the midfield and with a strong left foot, has the ability to score from outside of the box.
