The San Fernando Valley doesn't come with the same glitz and glamour as Los Angeles, but what it does have in spades is athletic talent and this includes girls soccer players. Schools in this area are consistently producing excellent high school athletes who end up playing major college soccer. This year is no exception.

[player_tooltip player_id='20169' first='Sayln' last='Cutler'], Central Defender, Westlake, Class of 2025

Cutler attends Westlake High and plays club for Eagles SC. She is a center back with a lot of ability. She is a long, athletic player with great strides and more speed than you'd think. She is excellent in possession and will join the attack. She is a very determined athlete, showing great skill, focus and a disciplined focus not easily found. Cutler is resilient and gives everything she has at all times.

Photo: Merista Quetzal

[player_tooltip player_id='19693' first='Kaylee' last='Foxhoven'], Attacking Midfielder, Viewpoint, Class of 2025

Foxhoven has taken on a new role at Viewpoint High, where last year as a sophomore she was a wide forward. This year, she's moved into the No. 10 spot where she can be the leader of the attack. She doesn't just rely on her speed as she would last year, instead relying on her field awareness and ability to pass and create chances for her teammates. She still has great skill and technical ability and creates chances for herself as well, as you can see in this video. She is leading the way on the field, making plays and remaining a composed threat for her school. She plays club with Eagles SC.

[player_tooltip player_id='20138' first='Samantha' last='Marella'], Central Defender/Midfielder, Viewpoint, Class of 2025

Marella plays club at Eagles SC. She attends Viewpoint in Calabasas, but is not playing high school soccer this season, and is playing off-season club soccer as she continues to look to train at a high level while narrowing down her college decision. Marella is a very versatile player as she can play in central defense or move up and play in the midfield. She combines great athleticism with excellent physicality. She can win balls in the air and then take that ball down and play it at her feet. She is really fast and will be a threat going forward no matter where she is on the pitch. She has a rocket shot, can score from distance and is also an excellent penalty taker. She plays the came with precision and consistency. She's very driven, she acts as a leader and really soaks up instruction well.

[player_tooltip player_id='20193' first='Siena' last='Meyer'], Central Defender, Newbury Park, Class of 2025

Meyer is a junior already committed to play at UCLA. She attends Newbury Park High and plays club for LAFC. She is a relentless player, one who defends physically and can win balls in the air or on the ground. Deceptively fast, she has great foot skills and is calm and composed on the ball. She is a supportive teammate, a resilient defender and a passionate overall player.

[player_tooltip player_id='19172' first='Avery' last='Oder'], Midfielder/Forward, Oaks Christian, Class of 2025

Oder is committed to Duke, and plays for a very good Oaks Christian team. The 2007 player also plays club at Beach FC. When you see Oder, you see a very fast player, one who is good at top speed, but one who has great quickness and can explode quickly. She is crafty and creative, whether she is sitting in the No. 10 spot or playing as a forward. She also has a great shot that she likes to show off from distance.

Ella Pfeiffer, Outside Defender, Oaks Christian, Class of 2026

Pfeiffer is a sophomore on the very good Oaks Christian team, and plays club Eagles SC. She is a very dynamic outside back, one who can contribute on both ends of the pitch. She can push up and track back quickly, and adapts quickly to whatever the situation calls for. She also works well with her teammates, paying attention to what they are doing so she knows when to overlap, when to play a ball or make a run.

[player_tooltip player_id='19771' first='Layla' last='Simon'], Forward, Westlake, Class of 2025

Simon is a junior and already committed to play at Pepperdine. She is a fantastic player with great agility and speed, and can keep that pace consistently. She plays with great energy and is full of zeal when she's on the pitch. She's a selfless player as she will set her teammates up more often than herself, but has great skill and ability to be able to create for herself. She is versatile as she can play multiple forward positions.

The San Fernando Valley doesn't come with the same glitz and glamour as Los Angeles, but what it does have in spades is athletic talent and this includes girls soccer players. Schools in this area are consistently producing excellent high school athletes who end up playing major college soccer. This year is no exception.
