Awards season is reaching its conclusion at Prep Soccer California, with the All-Area teams culminating in the All-State team. With so many talented players narrowing it down to the Best XI was no easy task. But this list of players captures the best of the state, and with eight of them confirmed to be heading off to play college soccer next season. This list includes state champions, all-CIF performers and underclassmen who will be very dominant next season.

KEEPER: [player_tooltip player_id='41555' first='Jordan' last='Victor'] represents Sacramento on the All-California team, as the Jesuit High senior is on his way to Stanford next season. What a season he had, allowing just seven goals all year long. He is the most well-rounded keeper in California.

DEFENDERS: It is pretty incredible that two players from the same school, who play in the same area of the pitch, could make the All-California team, but that happened as San Clemente offered two of the very best in the state. Jacob Poole and Finn Linus, both seniors and both college committed, can also boast about being two of the best defenders in the state. Poole is heading to play at George Washington next year while Linus will play at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. The lone junior on the team joins them as Josh Gault of Clovis North is the best defender in his part of the state, making him one of the best in the entire state.

MIDFIELDERS: It will be hard to find a better group of midfielders here, starting with the Southern Section's Open Division player of the year in Michael Cherico of Mater Dei. The dynamic midfielder is heading to Amherst next season. [player_tooltip player_id='8204' first='Marco' last='Bottene'] had nearly as impactful of a season for Mira Costa, and is immensely talented as the UPenn commit can score, he can distribute and is simply amazing on the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='8198' first='Manuel' last='Portillo'] of Archbishop Mitty led his team to a NorCal title and should find a home to play at last year, while his West Catholic Athletic League rival, [player_tooltip player_id='8172' first='Lukas' last='Ramans'] of St. Francis-Mountain View, joins as the only sophomore on the eam. Ramans is an incredible talent who colleges will line up for.

FORWARDS: [player_tooltip player_id='8195' first='Malcolm' last='Zalayet'] of Marin Academy, just north of San Francisco, is one of three forwards on the list after an incredible season of 41 goals. The University of California commit is a finalist for Gatorade player of the year in California. He scored 86 career goals, was his league MVP and has earned countless honors in high school and club playing for Marin FC. [player_tooltip player_id='48943' first='Gus' last='Velez'] was the talisman and striker for the SoCal champs, and No. 1 team in the state, St. Augustine of San Diego and he will be playing at the University of San Diego next season. [player_tooltip player_id='45551' first='Javier' last='Hernandez'], who led Arlington to a very special season which nearly ended in an undefeated Southern Section title, had 31 goals and will be playing at the University of North Carolina next season.
