All 11 of the girls on this Best XI team are college bound, and when you go through the list you see schools that are NCAA Tournament regulars, and striving to play for national titles.
KEEPER: Dysart is a very smart and brave keeper. She reads the game well, reacts quickly and plays without fear. With great shot-stopping ability, it is no wonder the Duke Blue Devils came knocking for the senior from Canyon Crest Academy.
DEFENDERS: When you talk about heartbeats of a team, that is what you are talking about with these three defenders. Each are leaders, each are accountable and they play the defender position with energy and physicality. Victoria Alessandrini Victoria Alessandrini M CA of Carondelet was a crucial part of this year’s Cougars team and she is heading to Pepperdine. Abigail Seawright Abigail Seawright D CA is a big reason why the Lions were in the Open Division playoffs in the Southern Section, and she will be at the University of Pacific next season. Tessa Ferguson, the unquestioned leader for Granite Bay, is going to be playing at Santa Clara for one of the best program’s in the country.
MIDFIELDERS: This group starts with the prodigious Charlotte Kohler Charlotte Kohler M St. Francis-Mountain View (CA) | 2024 State #17 Nation CA of St. Francis-Mountain View, the Stanford commit and U.S. Women’s YNT player, who is a do-it-all midfielder. She can score, create, make defenders miss, pass with precision and defends well. Murphy Walsh Murphy Walsh 6'0" | F Archbishop Mitty | 2025 State #153 Nation CA was incredible this year, dropping back into a deep midfield position for Archbishop Mitty and showed her versatility. The USC committed junior is a big reason the Monarchs won the NorCal title. Molly MacMillan Molly MacMillan M Santa Margarita (CA) | 2024 CA of Santa Margarita has had a great career with two SoCal titles in the last two years and will be taking her skills to Austin to play at Texas. Krystal Medina Krystal Medina M CA , the heart and soul of the midfield for Santiago-Corona, the Southern Section DI champs, is heading to Columbia next season.
FORWARDS: Three forwards here, including a junior which was the Southern Section’s Open Division player of the year in Madelyn Saruwatari Madelyn Saruwatari F Santiago | 2025 State CA , who is a already committed to Point Loma Nazarene. With that out of the way, look for an even bigger year from her at Santiago-Corona next season. Faith George Faith George 5'6" | F Santa Margarita (CA) | 2024 CA has been a talisman at Santa Margarita and left her mark on the program as the senior will be at USC next season. Jordan Geis Jordan Geis F Archbishop Mitty (CA) | 2024 State #88 Nation CA , who was on the radar as a freshman at Archbishop Mitty, was a standout for four years for the Monarchs and will be playing at UCLA next year.
