Two of the standouts from New York made the national list, but a number of others made the watch list. Check out a scouting report on some of the top talent from New York’s 2027 class below.
Fallone is a midfielder on the Rochester New York GA 09 team. She can play as a center forward, winger, or attacking midfielder. She was a standout at the high school level as a freshman this past season. She was named the 2023 Division I Private/Parochial Player of the Year and All-State. She helped Aquinas to a Class A Championship. Fallone is a dynamic player on the ball. She can be electric with her dribbling and her passing. She had 23 goals and 15 assists during the high school season. She took over the role as the go-to option for her school team, which should be really encouraging to scouts as she can be that young leader on the field at the next level. Her play at the Girls Academy level earned her a spot on the GA National Talent ID roster last season. Fallone has continued to be one of the bright stars of New York. She is right-footed, clever on the ball, and a brilliant passer. The knock on her might be her defensive game. She is very clearly a No. 10 type of player. She is active defensively in jumping into passing lanes and good at retaining possession when she wins it. She lacks a bit of enthusiasm in getting stuck in on duels. It feels like she can be an even more dominant player on the field if she improves on her activity with on-ball defending. Fallone’s brilliance on the field is easy to appreciate as soon as the ball touches her feet. She makes passes that few players would attempt, and she makes winning plays consistently. She is one of the top talents in the Girls Academy.
Rubinstein is a midfielder on the SUSA 07 ECNL team. We highlight Rubinstein over the summer for her play at the ECNL Conference Cup. She is playing up two age groups this season at the ECNL level. Rubinstein is a left-footed defensive midfielder. She is smooth on the ball. She offers a lot of the characteristics of a top prospect for her position. She also has the physical profile of a player in that role with her height and athleticism. Rubinstein should be noted as one of the top players in the 09 age group who isn’t in the YNT regularly but has the potential to be there soon. She could improve a bit defensively. The timing of her lunges to get into tackles has been a bit late in recent games. She probably got away with that more at the younger age group, but with the pace of play increasing against older competition, she will need to adjust to that. There is every reason to believe that she will during the last few months of the club season. She should be a key player for the SUSA 07 team during the postseason run.
Stronski is a midfielder on the World Class 09 ECNL. She is the type of midfielder with an unlimited amount of energy. Stronski’s passing and skill jump out from game film, but I believe it will be her pressing and energy that will get scouts to spend extra time watching her game film in the future. The competitive drive and never-quit attitude will take her a long way and has made World Class one of the best teams this season in ECNL. Stronski is a splendid midfielder on the ball too. She provides the key pass and scored some jaw-dropping goals at the Jefferson Cup.
Highlights
Deming is a winger/forward on the Rochester New York 09 GA team. She was part of the Aquinas championship squad as a freshman this season as she contributed some key goals. She is a quick player with good finishing instincts. She can get past defenders at the GA level with her skill. She also makes good runs off the ball. She cuts inside when the opportunity is on and seems to have laser focus on the goal. Deming is one to watch this season as she continues to make a name at the elite club level.
Nash is a goalkeeper on the Rochester New York 09 GA team. She also plays for Wheatland-Chili Varsity in Scottsville, New York. Nash is an excellent shot-stopper. She is quick in reactions, good technique in diving, and has strong hands. Nash had a number of standout moments for her side during the Girls Academy Event in December. Her penalty kick save in the final game is a good example of the type of quality and game-changing ability she brings to her side. She seems more comfortable playing close to her line. I think coaches will ask her to be a more prominent presence off her line at the next level as she can take control of the area around the goal. She has the sure hands to be that type of goalkeeper in the future.
Rand is a defender on the New York SC GA 08 team. She is a 2009. She was part of the Girls Academy Northeast Talent ID roster last season. She plays for Rye High School in New York. Rand is left footed and one of the top outside backs in the Northeast. She has good pace to get up and down the field from the outside back spot. She is an excellent 1v1 defender who uses her body well to shield off players. Her skill on the ball makes her an option in the attack as well. There is a lot to like about Rand’s game, which make her a top target in her position from this class.
Highlights
Kalamaras is a midfielder on the Long Island SC 09 GA team. She was part of the Girls Academy Northeast Talent ID roster last season. She plays for HF Carey High School. She also plays on the varsity basketball team at her high school. Kalamaras is a versatile, smart player. She is listed as a No. 6, No. 3, or No. 2 in her player profile. I think there is some potential as a No. 8 as well. She is a good passer with vision and can do a bit of everything to fit that role. Kalamaras’ defensive qualities definitively shine. She is sharp in the tackle and has a fearless physical approach. Kalamaras’ soccer smarts and versatility make her a top prospect from this region.
Maddie Truax is a forward on the Syracuse DA 09 GA team. She is part of the varsity squad at New Hartford High School. Truax is a talented attacking player who had a breakout season at both the club and school level. She has a burst of pace that really shows on game film as she glides past defenders with ease. She is an efficient finisher who had some prolific scoring outbursts at the school level this past year. Truax is a player who can fit a number of roles in the attacking trio. She is right footed, but can take on players going in either direction. Her skill and speed make her one of the most difficult forwards to contain in this class.
Puerta is a midfielder on the SUSA 09 ECNL team. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She is also on the Sachem East varsity team. She is a smooth player on the ball. Always calm and always under control, Puerta is a talented midfielder who can play as a No. 8 or as No. 10. She has excellent technique when striking the ball on the move and often tries her luck on shots from outside of the box. Thanks to the strong fundamentals those strikes tend to result in either goals or rebounds as she puts the shot on frame more often than not. Puerta’s quality as a goal-scoring threat from the midfield position makes her a top prospect in her role.
Hennes is a midfielder on the World Class 09 ECNL team. She is a captain for her club squad. She is a key player for her side. She dominates the center of the field. She reads the game and shuts down the opposition by closing out passing lanes or putting in a challenge. She can hit an accurate pass with pace over 40 yards so she is quick to switch the point of attack when the opportunity is on. Hennes is right footed but comfortable playing out of pressure on either foot. She makes good quick decisions and get the ball off her feet quickly – sometimes she does rush the pass too quickly and could afford another second on the ball to help her teammates have more time to get open. Hennes has a lot of potential and has been outstanding this season in the ECNL.
Diaz is a center forward on the World Class FC 09 ECNL team. She also plays for Albertus Magnus High School. She was All-League honoree as a freshman. There is a lot to like about Diaz’s game and potential. She is a plug-and-play center forward. She understands her role really well – and I think she’s just starting to scratch the surface in terms of her impact. She is an efficient finisher and has a poacher’s mentality around the goal. Outside of the box, she is an excellent provider. She has great footwork and good strength to withstand tackles while keeping possession of the ball. Diaz is a nightmare for defenders and should be a player to know during the postseason.
Caraballo is a defender on World Class FC 09 ECNL. She is a tough tackling defender. She is a shutdown defender who is capable of matching up against the top forwards in the country. Caraballo is great at distribution as well. She can pass out of high press or break the press with the dribble. Caraballo has good skill on the ball and is an accurate passer. There is a lot to like about her current game, and belief that she will be a top center back from this class in the future as well.
