Kosmidis is a wide player on the Met Oval 09 MLS Next team. He plays on the left side for the squad. His best attribute is his unstoppable work rate. From MLS Next games, he immediately stood out as a player who would not quit on a player and had a willingness to make the full field run whenever he saw the chance. The body language was also excellent as his shoulders never dipped when he didn’t receive the pass. There is a lot to be excited about in his potential as well. He has a strong technical foundation with a good first touch and excellent control. The mentality will be the key asset though that takes him far in the game. He has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past – and he looks to have the trademarks of his game to suggest a professional pathway may be in his future.
Wagner is an attacking midfielder on the Met Oval 09 MLS Next team. He immediately stood out from game film for his quality on the ball. He can manipulate a defender with his subtle movements and sublime control. He is an excellent passer and sees the gaeme at a high level. He looks to be left footed, but he is more than capable of providing the magic with either foot. Wagner has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. He has also been part of Poland Youth National Team events. He is a gifted player with a bright future.
Highlights
Dieujuste is a defender on the Met Oval 09 MLS Next team. He wears the captain’s armband for his club side. He plays as the right center back for the Met Oval team. His defensive instincts stand out from game film. He has good timing on his tackles and knows when to step up. The center back has good composure on the ball and makes quick decisions. He’s a good example of a modern center back and the versatility required to play the position.
Interiano is a defender on the FC Westchester 09 MLS Next team. He plays as the right center back for his side. His key attributes are defensively. He is a physical defender who is excellent in 1v1 situations. He uses his body well and wins the duel consistently when he is right the position. He is active in setting the offside line for his side and does a good job being aware of that during the run of play. Interiano sees the game like a leader on the field and sets a great example for his side.
Hill is a midfielder on FC Westchester 09 MLS Next. He has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID events. He is right footed and an absolute menace on set pieces. Hill will score if given a free kick within 25 yards of goal. He hits his dead-ball with pace and precision so it’s unstoppable for the goalkeeper. From the run of play, there is a flair to his game. He is a crafty dribbler and likes to dazzle in the middle of the field. His physical profile suggest he will be ready to test himself against older, faster competition in the near future.
Bori is a defender on the New York Soccer Club 09 MLS Next side. He plays left center back for his team. He is right footed, but comfortable on either foot. His physical stature stands out immediately as one of the tallest players on the field. He is good in the aerial duels and dominates in that facet of the game. Bori’s competitive nature also shines from game film. He wants the challenge and looks eager to match-up 1v1 against the best attacker. The potential is obvious from Bori’s game, and he should be one to watch from the 09 group. His recent play in MLS Next has been exceptional.
Abe is a center forward on the Manhattan SC 09 ECNL team. He also plays on the Hunter College varsity team. He might have the most potential of any player on this list. He is a physically dominant player who can take over the game. He is excellent at using his frame to create advantages especially in duels against center backs. The ability to finish with either foot is also a strong part of his game. Abe needs to improve his efficiency as a finisher. He creates the opportunities but doesn’t finish at the rate that most scouts would anticipate. His hold-up play is excellent and his ability to drag defenders away from his teammates is valuable for his side’s playing style. If Abe hits a hot streak as a finisher, Manhattan will contend for the national championship this summer.
Paucar is listed as a defender on his player profile, but I’ve only seen him play as an attacking midfielder. Paucar’s been one of the most impactful players in the ECNL in the last two months. He seems to always show up in the big moments – especially in close games. He is smart about his movements and anticipates where to be. Paucar is a key player for Manhattan and makes in impact defensively as well. He could improve in his strength on the ball as he can get knocked off the ball in the center when he takes too much touches. However, his impact in the final third is more than enough to make him a top player from the state.
Gastelu is a defender on the Manhattan 09 ECNL team. He was called into the US Soccer Talent ID event earlier this year. He plays as the right center back for his club team. He has a lot of the trademarks of a center defender. He reads the game and does well in positioning his body to see the field. He does have a tendency to get caught ball watching. And there were some times when he played a pass into a teammate that immediately put his teammate in a bad spot. If he makes better decisions on the ball, he will help his side avoid some of those transitional moments against top competition. The one area for improvement will elevate an already strong all-around game from Gastelu as he is one of the top center backs in this class.
