Texas State Tournament Top Performers: 4A Boys

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The University Interscholastic League (UIL) high school soccer season came to an end this past weekend, with the four best teams in each division clashing for the state title at the Birkelbach Field, in Georgetown, between Wednesday and Saturday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some of the most promising players of the Lone Star State were in action in Georgetown, playing big roles for their teams as they battled for the state title and we'll take the next few days to recognize some of them who stood out with strong performances.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Division 4A Boys had the San Elizario Eagles reclaiming the title after five seasons with a 1-0 win over Boerne in the Championship Game to lift the trophy for a fourth time. The Eagles were controlling possession but couldn't find a way to send the ball into the back of the net until Marquez did it with a 25-yard shot that made of him the match's MVP. The senior forward was ice cold to covert a penalty kick in the 98th minute and keep the team in the hunt for the title.
