Athleticism is one thing, and it is nice to have it. But without the drive, the discipline to get better, then athleticism can only get you so far. These five have the desire to be the best player they can be, and it has helped the three from the class of 2025 to get noticed, while the two underclassmen will surely be on recruiting radars soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='77911' first='Cora' last='Fry'], Forward, Slammers HBK, Class of 2026

Fry makes driving runs down the touch line when she is out wide, and when she plays striker she links up well and continues on as well as anyone. She follows up plays with a nose for goal and will clean up and score if a keeper or defender do not deal with the danger properly. She makes plays, and creates with ease. She is very comfortable on the ball and knows when to take on a defender and knows when to play the ball to a teammate. She cuts in well from the touchline when she doesn't go wide and does not become predictable.

[player_tooltip player_id='112144' first='Serenity' last='Kington'], Defensive Midfielder, Sporting FC, Class of 2027

Kington is now at Sporting FC for club, and is coming off her freshman season at a top high school in Los Alamitos. She is an ambitious player who loves to express herself on the pitch. She has very good size and strength, and she can use that to hold players off and facilitate the ball. She does not seem to get flustered under pressure, and will move the ball calmly, or turn and go past her defender. She also knows when to push, to fill space on the attack and take a crack at goal.

Daphne Nakfor, Keeper, Slammers HBK, Class of 2025

The Slammers HBK player is committed to UCLA and is a top keeper in the area. The JSerra Catholic player is incredibly accomplished in terms of accolades and has earned everyone of them. She can make all of the saves because she has great athleticism and reaction time. She can cover all areas of her goal, she is a commanding presence who takes charge and communicates well with her defenders. She is brave when coming out for a ball, and she is excellent in 1v1 situations.

Brooklyn Tanon, Defender, Placer United, Class of 2025

Tanon has been a varsity starter since she was a freshman, and has played in every match over the las three years for Del Oro High. She plays club with Placer United. By nature, she is an outside back but can play center back as well because of her understanding of when to challenge and win a ball. She is a gritty player, who gives everything she has. She has great vision and knowledge of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='54271' first='Viviana' last='Zacarias'], Attacking Midfielder, Slammers HBK, Class of 2025

The Colorado commit always finds a way to impact a game. She can score goals and create from the No. 10 spot, displaying the creativity to get by defenders and get downhill, or attract defenders and make a precision pass with her excellent vision. She can play the No. 8 as well and make an impact as she is a player who will do anything asked of her on the pitch. She plays high school with Los Alamitos and plays club with the Slammers HBK squad.
