Downing was a standout freshman at Clovis North this year and is proving incredibly valuable and talented at Cal Odyssey. Recently returning from LAFC, Downing is the absolute ideal No. 6 for any team. He is a maestro at the position as he makes things go, impacting the game on both ends. He's dynamic in that he covers a lot ground, both north and south, as well as east and west. He wins the ball in the midfield and can quickly pivot and deliver a precise ball to a wide player making a run, or play a perfect ball through the midfield. He has great technical ability so he can also take players on and take advantage of space and he sees the game really well, is excellent tactically in that he positions himself very well.

Garik Mkrtchyan, Central Defender, Class of 2025

The UCLA commit is a complete defender. He is big and strong, and attackers will not be more physical than he is. He's so well-rounded that he's excellent on balls in the air as well as being an excellent tackler. Mkrtchyan also has good speed to go with his size so keeping up with, or catching up to, attackers is something he can do if they get in behind. He's calm and composed, keeps the defense organized and plays well with the ball at his feet. He's a threat on corners and set pieces as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='223747' first='Sebastian' last='Montes'], Midfielder, Class of 2026

Montes plays for Central East High in Fresno and is a sophomore on the 2008 Odyssey team. He is a versatile midfielder, one that provides depth because he can play anywhere and dynamism because he covers so much ground. He plays beyond his years with a calm and an ease as he is not rushed on the ball and he shows very good vision.

Alexander Rodriguez, Attacking Midfielder/Forward, Class of 2025

Rodriguez has been a NorCal PDP player in the past and Clovis High player is very talented. He is an attacking player through and through as he likes to get forward and put pressure on the defense. He can play as a forward but really shines as a No. 10 where he can take people on, create chances by beating defenders or find pockets of space after playing a ball out wide. He is a No. 10 who runs the midfield and can pull all the strings, and pairs those things with great goal scoring ability.

Jason Williamson, Defensive Midfielder, Class of 2026

Reading and reacting is the name of the game for Williamson. The 2008 Odyssey player attends Clovis High and is an impact player. He does not over commit, understanding angles and depth very well, which allows him to track the runs of attackers better and not get caught out of position. He dispossesses attackers very easily, he plays with speed and strength, and he shows the ability to play on the ball.
