Five studs from Cal Odyssey recently got some love, but the talent in Central California this club season does not stop there. Here are five more standouts from the area around Fresno and Clovis, representing two different clubs and three different high schools. Central California certainly has many standout players.

Josh Gault, Central Defender, Class of 2025

Gault is a standout defender for both Clovis North High and Clovis Crossfire. He had spent some time injured, but is back and healthy, and is playing well. He's a very big center back. Gault will win the ball nearly every single time as he is very good in the air, slide tackling or staying on his feet and dispossessing or stepping into a passing lane. He is an exceptional talent with tremendous athleticism. He boasts very good technical skills, showing great comfort on the ball and he is very tactical as he understands the game at a high level.

Archie Gonzales, Forward, Class of 2027

Gonzales is a wide forward who plays his club at Albion Merced and attends Central East High in Fresno. He is a No. 11 and is left-footed, and is improving in terms of his service into the box with that left foot. He is improving every day as he gains experience as his tactical ability is catching up with his tremendous technical ability.

Derrick Green, Forward, Class of 2025

Green is a key striker for both club and school as he plays for Clovis Crossfire and attends Central East High. He is a tall, strong target forward who shows very solid hold up play and the ability to turn. With his size and strength, he is a force to handle once he gets into the box.

[player_tooltip player_id='168063' first='Nixon' last='Hansen'], Forward, Class of 2026

Hansen is a wide forward who has been a key player at Clovis North as a freshman and sophomore, and is also an important player for Crossfire. Hansen is a player who gets wide and understands how to maintain width to give the midfielders space to operate, or draw defenders, thus creating opportunities on the outside. He gets up the line quickly, loves to get downhill and once he gets 1v1 with a defender, he's incredibly dangerous.

Aaron Huerta, Attacking Midfielder, Class of 2025

Huerta is an important No. 10, both for school, Clovis High, and for club, Valley FC. He is a very special talent and provides many highlights when he's on the pitch. He has all the tools you want out of a top attacking player as he is a goal scorer and creator. He's excellent in tight spaces, can juke defenders, shows quick, agile movements and displays amazing vision. He's always looking to be a threat as he can crack a ball from outside the box, but is just as good at picking out a teammate.
