These six girls who are just finishing their freshman year proved to be key players for their respective high school teams, and are incredibly important to their club as well. The bar in Central California keeps getting set higher and higher as the talent improves, and this group is moving that bar even higher.

Karra D'Amato, Midfielder, South Valley Surf

D'Amato was a goal-scoring threat all season long for Garces Memorial during the high school season and she is a goal-scorer at South Valley Surf as well. She is tall and long, and combines long strides with great speed. She shows athleticism and the ability to make quick, agile movements in order to change direction or pace. She holds off defenders well, moves off the ball excellently and is a very good finisher.

Paige Dixon, Midfielder, South Valley Surf

Dixon is a do-it-all midfielder for SV Surf and she starred as a freshman at Garces, as well. She knows when to slow the game down, possess and regroup and she knows when to push. She's very good with the ball at her feet, makes smart decisions, can switch the field and also will track back and play great 1v1 defense if need be or crowd passing lanes.

Paytin Guyton, Forward, Lamorinda

The Bullard High player, who plays club at Lamorinda, is a very fast forward. She is not afraid to take a risk and try to put something on frame, showing confidence she can score from anywhere but also looking for the keeper to make a mistake. She is very creative, which allows her to create goal-scoring opportunities. She shows great speed and great elusiveness as well as she can get past defenders and make chances.

[player_tooltip player_id='287541' first='Sadie' last='Holty'], Central Defender, South Valley Surf

Holty is a fierce and strong center back. She stood out for Liberty-Bakersfield as a freshman, playing a vital role and is a key player for SF Surf. She plays with grit and determination, she plays the game with passion as she is not afraid to be physical, she challenges for the ball well, showing good timing when she makes tackles and usually reads the angles well, knowing when to step. She's also very improved with the ball at her feet.

Trinity Taylor, Forward, Central California Albion

Taylor is from Bakersfield, attending Independence High, and plays club with Central Cal Albion. She's a tough forward, who is hard to knock down or knock off the ball. A true No. 9, Taylor shows a great center of balance and excellent physicality when she matches up with defenders. She's a smart player, as she knows when to take a defender on or lay the ball off and continue on the run, and she truly has a nose for goal.

Photo: Sophia Sandoval @_createdbysophia

Goryn Wong, Midfielder, Crossfire

Wong is a midfielder that shows great range, both in that she can cover ground and also because she has a long, athletic body and shows great coverage. The Bullard High and Crossfire player is very composed for someone who is just wrapping up her freshman year, she shows great versatility in the midfield and she is a balanced player that can give you a bit of everything.

These six girls who are just finishing their freshman year proved to be key players for their respective high school teams, and are incredibly important to their club as well. The bar in Central California keeps getting set higher and higher as the talent improves, and this group is moving that bar even higher.
