A new crop of freshman are coming on to the scene, as they will be featuring for their high schools and are now at that age with their clubs where they start to gain traction and attention. These five are ready to announce their presences with authority and are about to burst on to the scene in this calendar year.

Bartlett is one of the top prospects in the 2028 class for California. She shows a rare combination of skills and shows them at a very high level. She shows an electric quality and a dynamism that is not often found on the pitch. She combines her skills with awareness and anticipation and she works so hard that you can tell she wants to be great. She is a player with great burst and acceleration, and once she is on the ball, you are in trouble because she can change pace and direction incredibly well and leave defenders in the dust. She is a star in the making who can score in a variety of ways, from calmly slotting a ball home to scoring an electric goal from range. She's also very team-oriented and will set teammates up to score if they opportunity is better.

Beary is a force in the making on the California scene as you will hear from her during her freshman year at JSerra Catholic as the Trinity League is about to get a new, fierce central defender. She is a key player on her SoCal Blues team as well and could take them on a nice run in ECNL play. She is a great tackler as she does so with controlled aggression and excellent timing. She's physical, but also shows a finesse side as she displays great timing when it comes to making a challenge or stepping for a ball. She also helps transition quickly, showing decisiveness and precision that can influence the outcome of a match.

Haness is a player that has an incredible burst of acceleration as she can go from idling to top speed very quickly. She works very hard to get on the end of the ball, and when she does, she is clinical in how she finishes. She can beat a keeper with a well-slotted ball home, keeping her composure when the keeper doesn't show her hand. She can also finish with a chip or supply power when needed. She moves incredibly well off the ball, always finding space to be dangerous in and losing her defender. She's also great about tracking back to be an outlet, and it is impressive how she can drag the ball either wide or inside with her to attract defenders and open things up.

Foxhoven is the third in a line of fantastic players at Viewpoint High, as her oldest sister Madison Foxhoven now plays at Duke and [player_tooltip player_id='19693' first='Kaylee' last='Foxhoven'] will be a senior at Viewpoint. She is a wide forward who can play as a No. 7 or a No. 11, and can also play as an attacking midfielder. She shows skill and ability with both feet, and has the ability to attack the goal from either side. Despite being right-foot dominant, she scores most of her goals with her left foot, making her dangerous when she's playing as the No. 11 because you can't simply jump the right foot and wait for her to cut in and drag across the face of goal. She is a precise passer who delivers excellent crosses and her ability to move the ball and get down the pitch quickly makes her very effective in transition and helping set up the attack.

Swindle is an athletic, active midfielder who can make plays with the best of them. She uses her dribble well to keep possession and to keep her creative window open. She can keep defenders from dispossessing her well thanks to her advanced foot skills. She keeps plays alive and then is able to play a clever ball or switch play and really open things up. She can also create for herself very well, finding ways to get separation and then delivering a shot on target from range, showing the ability to beat the keeper from anywhere.
