Players on the rise in the Virginia 2026 Rankings

The Prep Soccer state rankings for Virginia will be updated this week. Prior to the new rankings release, Prep Soccer takes a look at some of the players on the rise from the 2026 class. Check out a scouting report on some of the names to know below.    It's been quite the 2024 for Shuler already. The VDA star earned a spot on the US Soccer U16 Women's Youth National Team this summer. She was also named to the ECNL Mid-Atlantic All-Conference First Team. She's an absolute joy to watch. Playing as the No. 9 for her club side, Shuler operates as the conductor of the attack. Dangerously deceptive on the ball, cunning in her movement off the ball, she creates chances against even the most well-built defenses. Her skill on the ball is easy to spot and shows her potential at the international level. Shuler is a big time star in this class.     Center forward on the NVA 07 ECNL team. Johnson is a standout in her role and was a dominant player during the ECNL playoffs. She has a good physical profile for the next level and already shows the key traits of a forward who can play with her back to the goal. She showed great lower body strength and won duels often. She has quick feet and good footwork. She is a willing and active defender. She puts in a great effort in the press. She is right footed, but a capable finisher with either foot. She makes different runs off the ball, which makes her a difficult player to mark. She can play any spot along the back line. She played as one of the center backs in a back three/five during the ECNL playoffs. I think she projects there for the next level. She is a fluid athlete, light on her feet, and quick to react. Dockery is an excellent man-marking defender. She is very good when off the ball at positioning herself to read the ball and the player. She cuts off passes with her pace and anticipation. Dockery possesses high upside as a versatile defender and has impressed in camps during the past year.     Left center back for the NVA 07 ECNL team. Graves immediately stands out from game film for her defensive qualities. She is an excellent 1v1 defender. She uses her body well to keep the forward contained. Graves' quality in shutting down the opposition shined during the ECNL postseason. She is right footed, but can play through her left foot in the build-up. Graves' decision-making on the ball is another strong point of her game. She is great at keeping possession for her side and rarely putting her teammates in a tough spot. Graves looks like a top center back from this class. She can play any role in the midfield, which makes her ideal candidate at the No. 8 role. Keo could also have a future as a defensive midfielder. VDA likes to spread the field to the extremes immediately and relies on that spacing to create opportunities. The midfielders need to be good at recognizing when their teammates have an advantage on the wings. Keo stood out in that role for her ability to see those chances and swing the cross field pass with accuracy and pace. She can rip a 40-yard ball in the blink of an eye. The valuable piece of the VDA midfielder was a member of the Mid-Atlantic All-Conference First Team for the 2023/2024 season.     Rollison is an outside back on the NVA 07 ECNL team. She had a strong showing during the ECNL postseason. Rollison offers a consistent presence in the right back role. Her top attribute is her on the ball delivery. She hits a few free kicks for her side thanks to her expertise in ball striking. She can put a ball consistently in the right spot. Rollison is a solid defender. She matches up well 1v1 on the wing. She tracks runs well too. She would be a great fit for a possession-dominant system. She offers some versatility as she looks pretty clean with her left foot too.     Hurst is a top talent in this class. She is a dual-sport athlete. She also has a bright future on the basketball court. Soccer is her best sport and her focus. The 5'11 goalkeeper has made a massive step up in the past year. She was already a good goalkeeper thanks to her athleticism and drive. The foundational work in the past year on her footwork - both when making the save and in distribution - has taken her game to the next level. Hurst appears to be on the radar for several top programs based on social media and it seems like she will be a top player from this class.     Marlovits is a winger on the NVA 07 ECNL team. She is a versatile player who can fill in a number of roles. Her quick decision-making on the ball stood out from the game film. She has an aggressive mindset and she quickly springs into the attack when on the ball. She plays with confidence and plays with her head up. She scored a wonder goal earlier this season in the ECNL National Selection Game in North Carolina. She can play outside back as well at the next level. Marlovits' versatility makes her a top target and will get her on the field early at the next level.     Eva-Buckner is a forward on the NVA 08 ECNL team. She was an ECNL All-Conference honoree. She is an elite right winger. Speedy, skillful, and plays with a lot of swagger. Eva-Buckner will dance around defenders. There is a shiftiness to her game in the open field that trips up outside backs often. She hits a great cross with pace and accuracy, but the best aspect is her game awareness. She looks out for the runs of her teammates and hits the pass with purpose. Eva-Buckner should be a name all scouts know from this group.     Vita is midfielder on the NVA 08 ECNL team. She was a member of the Mid-Atlantic All-Conference First Team in the 08 age group. Vita is a box-to-box or defensive midfielder. She takes the defensive responsibilities of the role seriously and is a willing tackler in the open field. She reads the game well and gets into the right spots to help her team. She showed her quality during the postseason as she was a standout player in Washington.
