With a rankings update on the horizon, some SF Elite SC girls are looking to make a push up those rankings. With the new season, and a new batch of rankings coming, let's take a look at some of those names.

Ava Bowles, Central Midfielder, Class of 2025

Bowles is a steady influence, the kind of player you need in your midfield. She is a balanced player who can contribute in all facets. She stands out in terms of her ability to read the game and anticipate, oftentimes stepping into passing lanes or anticipating a players moves and taking the ball from them. She is a very good facilitator as her cool, calm demeanor allows her to scan the pitch and then deliver an accurate pass.

Jazleen Cerda, Forward, Class of 2027

Cerda is the youngest player of this group of five, and she is perhaps the most precocious. Soccer is in her bloodstream, and as a freshman for a NorCal title winning University team, she played a role. She will be a key player for her 2009 SF Elite team and during her sophomore high school season. She takes the game seriously, and works as hard as anyone to improve. Her work rate on the pitch is impressive. She lives for big moments as she is a slow heartbeat player, and she is composed in front of goal and when on the ball. She has good creativity and skill, and shows great vision and passing ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='58203' first='Miren' last='Creswell'], Central Midfielder, Class of 2025

Creswell is a versatile player, who features mostly as a No. 8 but can play as a No. 6 and play defense when needed. One thing she does really well is she helps transition quickly on the attack, as she can do so from a deep-sitting position or from higher up on the pitch. However, she is patient and if it is not there, she does not force it as she will make the best pass in order to help keep possession. She is a creative player with very good vision, very good creativity and she anticipates the game well. She can also carry the ball forward if you give her space.

Sammy Monks, Outside Defender, Class of 2025

Monks is a wide player who has big time speed. She is a track star as well, and on the pitch, as an outside back, she gets up and down the field with the best of them. She is very dangerous going forward and likes to express herself in that way. She can play a ball down the line or carry the ball forward and send in a cross. She's great in transitioning back on defense and is a solid all-around defender.

Victoria Nealy, Keeper, Class of 2025

A commanding keeper who is a vocal leader and a presence in her box, Nealy is one that can do a bit of everything? She shows bravery in coming off of her line for a ball in the air or when a ball is played out in front of an attacking player. And she is smart in when she does so. She stops shots, not just the ones she should, and in the modern game, she does what needs to be done and that is possessing the ball and helping build from the back.
