Prep Soccer Texas was at Meyer Park on Saturday, where we got to watch boys' matches during the day, and now it's time we give a shoutout to the prospects that made a strong impression so early in the season. It's time we cover the last position and point out the forwards who had solid performances:

Stirrett was Dynamos SC USC TX RL B11's most advanced player on the field. Because of his interesting physical tools, he served as a reference to the team's offense, working well with his back to the goal and making turns on defenders. Stirrett didn't limit himself to the central area of the field, roaming on the final third and using his pace and dribbling ability to get the ball in wider areas and go at defenders to create chances.

Cooper was an interesting offensive piece for Challenge United East USC TX RL B08, playing different roles for them up top. He spent some time playing more centrally, both at the striker role and as a second forward, but was at his best when operating on the right, where he could use his pace to challenge defenders. Cooper was very good at dribbling the ball forward and wasn't selfish, always looking for teammates in good spots to finish to feed them the ball.

Wilber was the striker of the Lonestar SC Red North 08B team that competed in the event. He combined good size and an interesting pace and used that to offer a solid presence up top. At times, it seemed that Wilber was isolated up top, but he never backed down and kept fighting with and putting pressure on defenders as he chased long passes. The forward also displayed some intelligent movement off the ball and got into good spots to get passes in the final third.

Karim was a constant threat in the attack for his team Dynamos SC USC TX RL B08. A very athletic forward, he used his pace very efficiently to create problems for opposing defenders and was calm and composed in front of the goal. One of the things that made Karim lethal in the final third was how intelligently he timed his runs, avoiding getting caught offside and still getting the ball behind the backline. He also spent some time on the left wing and did a good job combining with his teammates to create chances.

Giogaia played forward for Challenge United East USC TX RL B06/07 this past weekend. The team used a system with two strikers and he was one of them, offering them a strong presence up top. Giogaia had the most freedom among the two and did a good job with his movement in the final third, coming closer to his teammates to engage in combination plays and displaying good vision and pace to explore the space out wide. He also played with a lot of energy and was very disciplined tactically, dropping back to help on defense when the team didn't have the ball.

Carvalho had a prolific weekend with Challenge United ECNL RL B10 at Meyer Park. A quick and intelligent forward, he explored the space behind opposing backlines extremely well and was also very difficult to dispossess when he made runs in the attacking third. Carvalho never shied away from attempting to finish the goal and was very effective with it, scoring goals from inside and outside the penalty box. He also did solid work when the team didn't have the ball, putting pressure on opposing defenders and often forcing them to play long.
