Being versatile or being flexible within your position is important. These five are players from Missouri who either play multiple positions, or do many things well within one position, which adds to their value.

[player_tooltip player_id='224813' first='Kadyn' last='Gottman'], Keeper, STLDA, Class of 2025

Gottman is instinctive and reactive, as she is just as fast going left, right or covering the roof of her net. She understands how to get long when going horizontal, showing athleticism in the way she is able to extend. She also squeezes the ball well, and does not spill and then she distributes quickly. She gets big when an attacker gets behind the defense, but does not come out recklessly. She is in control and knows when to sweep her legs, or to just close out and use her body. With great athletic ability and shot-stopping ability, Gottman is a top keeper in Missouri's class of 2025.

Makenzie Healy, Defender, KC Legends, Class of 2026

Healy is a versatile defender who can play in the middle of the defense, or play as a wide defender. She has wonderful defensive instincts, knowing when to step up to try to dispossess or when to step and challenge the attacker and take away space. She's an excellent passer of the ball when she's playing outside as she moves it crisply and cleanly as you can tell she is very comfortable in possession. She enjoys expressing herself and moving forward to be a part of the attack.

Sarah Listrom, Defensive Midfielder, Kansas Rush, Class of 2026

Listrom is a fantastic midfielder who can play all over, but really stands out as a No. 6. She is a very strong and smart player, who is very dangerous on free kicks. She is a good distributor of the ball, and when the opportunity presents itself, she is able to push forward. You can tell she likes to play in the No. 10 spot as well as she goes at defenders, likes to take them on but shows smarts as well as she knows when it's time to play a ball between center backs or send it out wide to an outside forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='224815' first='Sofia' last='Scego'], Outside Defender/Forward, Lou Fusz, Class of 2026

Scego is a very long, athletic player who can strike the ball with both feet. She can push the ball in front and then put her boot behind it, or she can hit a one-time volley from range. She can play as a back or wide forward and excels at both. She is a clever player on the outside that can make people miss as she has good technical skills, but also displays a tactical awareness as she understands what is required in the moment.

[player_tooltip player_id='136412' first='Grayson' last='Vacanti'], Outside Defender, Kansas Rush, Class of 2026

Vacanti has many strengths, and two are outstanding carrying tools. When back in defense, she is quite good in the air as she wins aerial duals and she knows when to step and head the ball forward. She's also good going forward as the left-footed outside back has a very strong shot and can get involved and score from range. She is also very speedy getting up and down the pitch, showing the ability to diagnose the game as she knows when to carry and when to make the extra pass.
