Illinois Standouts From ECNL Opening Week

Especially in her opener where she scored and assisted in an exciting 4-4 contest against Sporting Blue Valley. Showcasing powerful shot while showing an ability to dribble past defender and time her runs on through-balls. Had a huge high school season with Plainfield North in the spring.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='102476' first='Emma' last='Gronlund'] - Chicago Inter 08</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's one of a handful of prospects I've watched that continues to progress her skillset. Super quick and decisive off the ball to get herself into dangerous spaces in the attacking this last week. Had an impressive goal in the 4-4 shootout game where she made a song run into the 16 for a volleying finish near the net. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='22172' first='Mekenzie' last='Rogers'] - Eclipse 08</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The recent Michigan St commit showed some outstanding skill this past weekend in Kansas City despite a pair of losses. Her touch around the ball looks sensational with great awareness to out-dribble numerous opponents. She also displayed tons of aggression winning by ground duels and makes the most of her physical upper-body. Scored on a breakaway beating the GK for a 1v1 for a tap-in finish.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Alaina Chandola</strong> <strong>- Eclipse 09</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Scored two goals on Saturday in her first weekend of ECNL play. Mobile attacker capable of taking players 1v1. High motor up top. Will definitely be a player to monitor going forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='22083' first='Brynn' last='Diedrich'] - Eclipse 09</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Had a pair of really nice performances this weekend. Displaying tons of speed in the open field and has a unique ability to blow by players in an instant with the ball. Making her a lethal threat in the attacking third. Will be a name opposing teams should monitor going forward this ECNL season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
