NXT LVL – Day 2 scores

A pair of dramatic finishes capped the second day NXT LVL Showcase play on Saturday at Afrim's Sports Park in Colonie, N.Y.

Hill School (Pa.) rallied from a 3-1 deficit for a 5-3 win over Phillips Exeter (N.H.) with four quick goals late in the second half. Meanwhile, the neighboring field, St. Andrew's College (Canada) scored on the final touch of the game in a 1-0 win over Hoosac-2 (N.Y.).

Hill School had every reason to feel defeated until its dramatic turnaround. The storied Pennsylvania program scored to pull within 2-1 against Phillips Exeter only to watch Exeter restore a two-goal lead at 3-1 just a minute later.

Hill School coach Kris Donaldson moved Bucknell commit Jake Thomas from center defensive mid to left wing and things started to click. Hill netted the next four goals with Jaelen Toole giving the team a lead at 4-3 before Leo Aguilar Gonzalez capped the scoring in the closing minutes.

While Hill-Exeter was a back-and-forth contest, it was one-way traffic for St. Andrew's College. The team held the upper hand against Hoosac-2, but had nothing to show for it until Matvey Semochkin scored in the 90th minute. After the team celebration died down, the center official blew the whistle to end the contest.
