Michigan players with flexibility, versatility

Four 2026 graduates and a 2028 comprise the players featured in this article, and that is because they bring something similar and unique to the table. They all have the ability to play as defenders, to be a lockdown defender, but they also are versatile in that they can do many things on the pitch and are flexible enough to get out of their comfort zone to help their team win.    Andrzejewski is a fierce player, one with a strong will and desire to win the ball, to defend and contribute in any way she can. She works extremely hard, she gives effort at all times and she is effective. She is great at winning duels with attackers, as she can dispossess or win balls in the area. She makes clean, well-timed tackles. She is also good playing the ball on the floor as she possesses with confidence, she can ping the ball around and help build out of the back.     Armstrong is a dominant force and a versatile player. She can play in the midfield and she can play defense, and regardless of where she is playing, she contributes in largely the same way. She takes her defensive responsibilities seriously, using her physicality to be a defensive force and to be disruptive. She is very comfortable with the ball, and an absolute force when she moves forward and gets into the area. She has great timing and athleticism, so scoring on headers is something she is excellent at, but she has great foot skills and can one-time a ball home or create a goal for herself.     Battershell has an excellent sense of anticipation, stepping in front of wide forwards consistently to win the ball. She has great timing and an understanding of how to win the ball and help start a transition. She's fantastic about picking a pass from her outside back spot, playing a ball that will help the offense best, not simply sending a ball down the line. After she plays the ball, she is very good at choosing the right space to occupy or the right run to make.     Klacking is a defender with good size for a 2028, good strength and physical tools. She moves fluidly and has good agility, allowing her to stay with attacking players as she is tremendous in 1v1 situations, and she uses her strength to win the ball. She is also very good on balls in the area, being strong and brave to clear the dangers. She can push up as well, and is an offensive threat on corners and balls in as she shows scoring ability.     I got to see Sills at the GA Showcase in Southern California, and it was good to confirm on film what I believed, and that is that she is a hard-working, tough-nosed defender. She will make a challenge, she will be physical and she will put her body on the line to stop goals from being scored. She plays physically, she plays fast as she has great speed and strength. However, she will also play with the ball at her feet and help build up out of the back, showing the ability to help the team in all ways.
