Ventura County with talent at all levels

Ventura County borders Los Angeles County, and because of the amount of athletes that come out of Los Angeles County, it can get overlooked. But it produces great soccer players, and has great clubs like Eagles SC and Ventura Surf. Here are five players, one from each class 2025 through 2029, who stand out in Ventura County.    I wrote about Brooks recently, <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2024/10/california-2028s-2029s-boast-prodigious-talent/">here</a>, but featured her as this group's 2029 graduate because she is very deserving.   Brooks continues to prove to be a prodigious scorer despite playing up a year, as she has scored over 30 goals in just over six months with Ventura Surf's 2010 team. She continues to develop as a forward as she is not just a goal scorer. I see a player getting more and more comfortable with the ball at her feet, showing great composure when pressured and with the ability to navigate tight areas. She has clearly worked on her foot skills as much as her finishing skills and is becoming an incredibly well-rounded forward.     Staevski lives in LA County, attending Agoura High, but plays club in Ventura County with Eagles SC. There are not too many players like her in terms of how well she can stay on side and time her runs. She is also very good in splitting center backs, which is also rare. She has a fantastic touch and places the ball where she wants it when she receives the pass, beats the defender an gets back on the ball. She is a two-footed player, but possesses a really strong left foot that allows her to put pace on the ball from distance as she can often beat the keeper from outside the area.     Bartlett lives in Kern County, but travels quite a distance to play in Ventura County for Eagles SC. She is a prodigious young player, one of the prizes of the 2028 class and will be a star at Bakersfield Christian. She is the top ranked forward in her class and is an absolutely electric player. She is a rare player that combines elite skill with an understanding of the game as she can read what is going to happen before others and react accordingly. She's very fast and explosive, and she is just dynamite on the ball. She can beat you with straight-line speed, she can beat you with her ability to stop and go, and once in range of goal, she's lethal when it comes to finishing.     Pimentel recently committed to Fullerton as she is the 2025 graduate of this group. An incredibly controlled player in the midfield, she is also very clever, creative and athletic. She is very subtle in her movements, very quick and decisive as it will be a little touch or a move of the shoulders and she will separate. She's great at holding off defenders in the midfield and then playing a ball that leads an attacking player. She can really handle the ball and take advantage of open space, or beat defenders. She is a fun player to watch.     Bickham is a very unique blend of skills and ability. The future Idaho Vandal can basically do it all as she can hold up play from deep in the midfield and facilitate, she can possess and move the ball in the back to loosen the defense, or she can scan the pitch and look to break lines. She has fantastic vision and on ball skills. She also can play as a forward and is very fast and very dangerous. She carries the ball very well, and she makes great combinations runs with other players in the attack. She is a player that can do almost anything on the pitch.
