Playoffs? Playoffs?! YES, we are talking about girls High School soccer playoffs! It's that time of the season when all the blood, sweat and tears spilled throughout the regular season becomes meaningful. That time when a loss may mean the end of the season for some, or an end of a storied High School career for others.

While not everyone or every team will be successful this tournament season, there will be a handful of teams that get to raise those much sought after District Championship trophies and plaques. Those District Championships are hard earned and proclaim your dominance in your specific region that season. Those District Champions, the District Finalists and the other teams that qualify, want something much more. They want that coveted WIAA State Title!

Only 5 teams from 6 different classifications across the Evergreen State (Class 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A & 2B/1B) will be able to call themselves State Champions. Thier names will forever be written in the history books, and you can never take that away from those teams, their coaches and those athletes. They had the perseverance, dedication and talent to battle through a grueling season to become the last team standing. They earned every bit of those titles, and they should be proud of their lasting accomplishments.

The #1 seeded Woodinville Falcons take on the #9 seed Issaquah Eagles in a familiar KingCo Conference matchup. Woodinville won the first match they played against each other in early October with a close 2-1 result. The 2024 KingCo Defensive Player of the Year, [player_tooltip player_id='28058' first='Allyson' last='Laccinole'] will look to stave off [player_tooltip player_id='28343' first='Molly' last='Fordham'] and the Issaquah attack. Grab a ticket for this one because the Falcons are looking for trophies, but the Eagles are not going to go down without a fight.

The #8 Tahoma Bears will head South for a match versus #1 Skyview Storm for what should be an epic battle! The Bears have a tough defense led by junior GK [player_tooltip player_id='111528' first='Simone' last='Bennett'] but they will be tested by the potent attack from the Storm's [player_tooltip player_id='271422' first='Dea' last='Covarrubias'] and [player_tooltip player_id='271421' first='Mya' last='Ellertson']. These goal scoring machines may be difficult to contain.

#1 Gonzaga Prep will be hosting #4 Chiawana in the second round of the District 6 - 4A tournament. Both teams pulled out wins in the first round and are looking to continue that feat on Saturday. The Bullpups will use their stout midfield led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='140189' first='Jennah' last='Wanner'] to move the ball to the attack quickly. The Riverhawks will look to fire in crosses early and often with the speedy and versatile [player_tooltip player_id='271311' first='Lindsey' last='A. Sanchez']. This will be one to watch!

The #5 Shorecrest Highlanders will be heading to Oak Harbor to take on the #4 Oak Harbor Wildcats for a Wesco v. Northwest Conference clash. The Wildcats have won 7 of the last 8 games and are feeling confident with their senior goal scorer, [player_tooltip player_id='270212' first='Addisen' last='Boyer']. The Highlanders have their own weapon in sophomore forward, [player_tooltip player_id='111382' first='Olivia' last='Taylor'] who is known to produce timely goals and assists. Winner takes on #1 Snohomish or #8 Sedro-Woolley in the next round.

The #1 seeded PSL Champion, Gig Harbor Tides will meet the #8 seeded Kelso Hilanders in what should be an entertaining match. The Tides are stacked. They will use their dynamic forward, [player_tooltip player_id='28153' first='Elizabeth' last='Hayes'] to disrupt the Hilander defense while GK [player_tooltip player_id='264316' first='Ella' last='Conrad'] and her stingy defense will look to build off their 3-game shutout streak. The Hilanders were known for putting up gawdy goal numbers during the regular season so GHHS will need to be ready. This could be a fun one.

Senior Tumwater forward, [player_tooltip player_id='270708' first='Emalyn' last='Shaffer'] will be looking to continue her last ride and help her team on the road to state with a big performance.

The #4 East Valley Red Devils will battle their Central WA Athletic Conference foes, the #2 seed Ellensburg Bulldogs. In their two previous meetings this season, the Bulldogs pulled off 2-1 wins in both matches and the Red Devils are hungry for payback. East Valley is dangerous in midfield with [player_tooltip player_id='140260' first='Ariana' last='Lopez'] roaming the pitch, but the Bulldogs will bring everything they have to make this win number 3 versus EV. It will be a fantastic Eastern Washington showdown.

This will be their 3rd match of the season with the Gators having outscored the Warriors 14-2 in the last two meetings. Seattle Christian will need to dig deep and have a big game from their GK Izzy Blase to fend off the Gator attack.

#2 Auburn Adventist will take their five-game win streak to Game Farm Park in Auburn to battle the #3 La Conner Braves. The Braves have a young squad that are eager to contribute and should give the Falcons a good game. A win in this match means an automatic berth to State and both teams have enough talent to make it there. Should be an entertaining 80 minutes.
