Best Players of the Top Ranked Teams: West Forsyth High School

The third team in this series is <a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/nc/soccer/rankings/1/">16th-ranked</a> <a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/nc/clemmons/west-forsyth-titans/soccer/">West Forsyth High School</a>. West Forsyth had an unbelievable season, being one of the biggest candidates to win the state championship. Unfortunately for them, they fell victim to an upset in the second round of playoffs. However, though their season didn't end in the way it was expected to, they won <a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/nc/soccer/24-25/conference/central-piedmont-4a/?leagueid=748f140b-4afe-439d-828b-db67053bb90d">their conference</a> in fantastic fashion. With 67 goals scored in 14 conference matches and their only loss coming once they had wrapped up the title, they dominated the conference with ease. This team is a well-oiled machine, with everyone playing their part fantastically. Many players on this team have potential, but to narrow it down, these five are the biggest standouts.    Haegen is an incredible talent at left wing who proves how gifted he is every match. He's a physically imposing winger, intimidating the opposing right-back even before he gets the ball. When he does receive the ball, he plays with the confidence that he'll make something happen. And he does, his effectiveness in the final third is impressive. He's both a goalscoring and chance-creating threat who makes the left flank completely his. On the ball, he's both fast and agile which helps him get past as many defenders as he likes. His link-up play with the attackers around him is fantastic as well, circulating the ball smoothly in crucial areas. The way he shoots is incredible too, pulling off shots with both power and precision. He loves a good curled shot, making the goalkeeper work every time he shoots.     Abiel is another incredibly talented attacking prospect with bags of potential. The striker is very active, always looking to have the ball in his possession. He's a striker who doesn't hide from the play, often taking part in the build-up. His quick passing leaves very little time for the defenders to try and contain him. Being as quick as he is makes these passes all the more effective too. If his team is not in possession, he'll help out regaining the ball. His physique and stamina are a great boost to that goal as well. Aerial duels are also another one of his virtues, winning them constantly regardless of where he is. His finishing is calm and composed as well, never overthinking when it comes to scoring. He has the cold-bloodedness any striker needs to be productive.     Omar is a very promising center-back who can also play as a right-back. However, his role in this team is to play more as a "sweeper" in a back four. He excels in this role phenomenally, cleaning up any breakthrough opposing attackers make with ease. His long legs and pace make it difficult for strikers to get past him. The way he regains possession is also very impressive, doing so cleanly and seemingly effortlessly. However, if he does need to put in extra work to regain possession, he'll still manage to win the ball back cleanly. When he wins the ball back, he keeps possession with composure. He plays the ball out from the back with ease, offering a helping hand in build-up play. His heading is very good too, both winning the ball back and scoring from his headers.     Joshua is a great deep-lying midfielder who offers crucial support for his team. In defense, he's a committed and brave player who never backs out of a duel. When he regains possession, he keeps his head up looking to create a progressive play. He always looks for players who are open to pass to, even when it seems difficult to do so. If his defenders win the ball, he offers himself as an immediate passing option to move the ball forward. When the play is further up the pitch, he also becomes a chance creator. His passes into the final third are great and lead to danger when he plays them through.     Ethan is one of the important pieces in the effectiveness of his team's attack, constantly creating chances for them. The attacking midfielder thrives with the freedom the role gives him, always looking to have the ball at his feet. He'll go to wherever he needs to in order to receive it, even if it means leaving the final third. He makes the midfield his and is the focal point in circulating the ball. His passes are incredibly precise as well, always finds the path of whoever he's passing it to. On the ball, his movement is great, managing to free himself from pressure easily.
