It took only minutes of watching NC Fusion 2010 play to see that Guardado is different than her peers. The midfield maven of the NC Fusion squad is a joy to watch. She possesses wonderful close control of the ball and a plethora of skills to leave defenders on their behinds quite often during the game. She has a powerful shot with either foot and often tests the goalkeeper with an effort from distance. Guardado is a player with big-time potential. She's a bit off the radar this season, but the talent is very clearly there.

Davis comes from a soccer family. Her dad, Willie, is a long-time coach at the college and professional level. He is currently the head coach of the NC Courage U23, the reigning champions of the USL W. Melania's older sister, Syri, is a Virginia Tech commit after a storied youth career with Courage Academy. Milania is a 2010 who plays up with the 2009s at NC Courage. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. The right center back displays similar traits to her sister. That exceptionally soccer IQ, the composure on the ball, and that competitive drive are the trademarks of her game, which is the reason she is one of the best center backs in this class.

Schmidt is the player with the most potential in this class. Standing over six-feet tall, she's hard to miss on the Charlotte squad. She can play in the midfield or at forward. Perhaps could even play in the defense, but I've yet to see it on game film. She's had games this season when she was the most dominant player on the field. Considering the level of her teammates, this is a huge compliment. The push for Schmidt to get to the next level - youth national team - is the consistency. She's also had games when she wasn't impactful. The framework is there for a player who could be considered among the top players in the country. If Schmidt continues to work on her craft, she will be a name that ends up at one of the top programs.

Christiansen is one of those players that jumps off the screen on game film. She's always involved in the play. She's got active feet and a quick mind. She's been a key catalyst for the Independence midfield this season with her play. She's been identified by US Soccer scouts and called into a Talent ID events in the past. Christiansen's play this season has been a revelation that should continue to generate looks from scouts.

Lanier is a center back on the Charlotte Independence 2010 ECNL team. She has the physical profile to be a top center back in the future. Tall, athletic, and quick on her feet, she combines that with an ultra-competitive drive to be one of the most impactful defenders in the 2010 ECNL age group. Lanier has been outstanding this season. From the distribution that allows her team to start the attack with her long-range accurate passing to her goal-saving plays as the last line of defense, she's made a mark in the ECNL during the campaign to say she is a top talent in the North Carolina class.
