The ECNL National Event in Florida wrapped up early this week. The event featured some of the best teams in the country in the 2009, 2008, and 2007/2006 age groups.

Scorpions SC from Massachusetts was the most dominant team at the event. The squad complied a 3-0 record with 16 goals scored and 0 goals conceded. They clearly sent a message to all of the teams that they will be a team to watch in 2025. Below are the players who made a statement for the Scorpions 08 ECNL team in Florida.

The ECNL All Conference honoree from last season switched from Conncecticut FC to Scorpions SC for the 2024/2025 campaign. She's found a new home, but she hasn't slowed down at all and continues to be a top attacking talent in the ECNL. Tansil has elevated her game. She's developed a partnership with the attacking talent on Scorpions to be a formidable, nearly unstoppable force - particularly her play with [player_tooltip player_id='110812' first='Kambryl' last='Armstrong'] has been excellent. She is a ferocious two-way threat. Fearless in the tackle, and lightning quick the ball, Tansil's tenacious play forces the game to her side of the field and puts a ton of pressure on the opposition. This opened up every opponent for Scorpions. Tansil won her duels - as she always does - but it created space for her teammates to flourish among the dozens of scouts in attendance. It was a terrific showing from the winger with the highest upside among uncommitted 2026 talent.

Armstrong impressed with her play as the center forward for Scorpions. She was the catalyst of the attack. She did well playing with her back to the goal and had the ability to spin off defenders and get in on goal in a hurry. She was excellent off the ball especially on the cross with the timing of her runs and the directness of her approach to getting in on goal. Armstrong is another top uncommitted talent.

The five-foot-nine midfield from Scorpions dictated the game for the most part of her side. I was impressed with her ball-winning ability in the open field. She was not hesitant to put in a tackle and did not wait for an obvious mistake to regain possession of the ball - she went out and took it. On the ball, she hit the pass with pace into her teammates feet. She pinged it across the field to switch the point of attack with accuracy. She did well in combining with the attacking midfielder Megan Jakubicka.

Keselman stood out as a top-tier center back from the event. The Scorpions defender was a key reason why the team did not give up a goal in three games. She was excellent 1v1 defending and did well in organizing her team. She's also a target on set pieces. Keselman has the quality to be an early starter at left center back at the college level.

Tufts was another standout from the Scorpions defense. Her composure on the ball in possession was the main attribute that stood out. She made good decisions with her distribution combined with being excellent at striking the ball, she offers up a real asset at center back for any team looking to build from the back under pressure.

Heavey might end as one of the best 2027s in Massachusetts. The game film from the event was really impressive. She is a winger with excellent instincts around the box - a real poacher's mentality. Her team selected her for Scorpions Team of the Event for her performances. I thought her goal in the second half against PDA South was an excellent example of her play - the timing of the run, the quick finish, and the ability to get her body in front of the defender to put a foot on the cross first. Heavey's got the instincts to be a top winger at the next level.
