#ECNLTX: Top Goalkeepers from the Lone Star State

<p>The state of Texas is the next destination of the ECNL Girls Soccer League as this coming weekend, from Saturday to Monday, the city of Dallas will host the league's second national event of 2025.</p>   <p>Having the Toyota Soccer Center and the MoneyGram Soccer Park as venues, the ECNL Dallas event will have as many as 210 club teams competing in five different age groups and Prep Soccer Texas will be in attendance all three days, following the action closely and bringing daily reports.</p>   <p>Unsurprisingly, Texas will have massive representation in the event, with as many as 54 teams getting in action - [program_tooltip program_id='278052' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'], Challenge SC, [program_tooltip program_id='278665' first='Classics' last='Elite'] SA, [program_tooltip program_id='278678' first='Dallas' last='Texans'], DKSC, FC Dallas, [program_tooltip program_id='278668' first='Lonestar' last=''] SC, Solar SC, Sting Austin, Sting Black and Sting Royal will all have teams competing.</p>   <p>The elite of Texas Girls Club soccer will be in Dallas and we would like to highlight some names to keep an eye on before the event begins. We start with the goalkeepers:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Burkholder plays for the Challenge SC 10 team that is set to face Utah Avalanche, NCFC Youth and Washington Premier in Dallas. She has been to USYNT training camps and is one of the most promising goalkeepers in the country in her age group. What sets her apart is that, while most goalkeepers of her age stand out for having great instincts or pure athleticism, Furkholder is incredibly technical and has an extremely developed game. She executes all the moves perfectly and is also very mature, which shows in how she leads from the goal and constantly communicates with her teammates. Another aspect of her that deserves praise is her ability to punt the ball with impressive precision.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2024/11/IMG_3264.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-274440" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Challenge SC G10 vs. Sting Royal G10</figcaption></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Hurst and her [program_tooltip program_id='278678' first='Dallas' last='Texans'] 09 teammates will play against San Diego Surf, Seattle United and Eclipse Select in this weekend's event. With [player_tooltip player_id='148470' first='Demi' last='Arnolds'] and her as options for the goalkeeper position, the team will definitely not have any issues between the posts. With impressive athleticism and excellent body control, she's excellent at making her body longer and getting to shots into the corners to make stops. Hurst is also very quick to reach, which makes her have great efficiency in 1v1 plays and close-range shots. Another Texas goalkeeper with USYNT pedigree, she continues to develop and steadily include her name in the conversation about the best in the country. Ta is extremely technical and, at times, her ability to pick the right options for each play makes her saves look simpler than they actually are. Her reflexes are also impressive and allow her to thrive in short-distance shots, including penalty kicks. Another of her strengths is her ability to quickly scan the field after making a save and putting the ball back in play with great efficiency.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBZgUuKOWLY </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The starting goalkeeper of the [program_tooltip program_id='278052' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] 08 team, Allen will be tested against Charlotte Independence, Midwest United FC and Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals in Dallas. Her game has grown tremendously over the last year or so and has earned her a spot among Texas' most intriguing goalkeepers. The tools have always been there but as Allen continued to improve the mental aspect of her game, she started to put the pieces together and become consistently good for her teams. She's a terrific shot-stopper, with excellent reflexes and determination to keep the ball out of the goal no matter what. She's an intriguing goalkeeper, who combines athleticism, explosiveness and tremendous spatial awareness to make saves. Ready is very reliable when dealing with long-distance shots and she's equally difficult to beat with high and low shots, rarely giving up rebounds.
