2A Week 1's Best Players

Though not all 2A teams have played their opening matches of the season, most of the teams have. With dozens of matches being played so far, many players have demonstrated their fantastic ability. The opening matchday leaves behind a plethora of talent that will continue growing as the season progresses. This makes the task of narrowing the pool down to just five players difficult, but these are the best of the matchday in my opinion.    Angela is an attacking midfielder whose potential is beyond sky-high. Agile and skillful, she puts on a brilliant show anytime she receives the ball. Her natural talent allows for her to have complete control of the tempo at her feet. The vision she has helps create clear chances helping her bag a few assists. Her ability to find space isn't limited to just playing in passes to her attackers though. She finds space to receive the ball in, pouncing on the chances herself. The way she resists immense pressure is impressive as well. She can create danger from where it seems she'd lose the ball. When she gets in or near the box, she often gets shots on target, even scoring an important amount of goals.     Yuri is a well-rounded right-midfielder with a fantastic work rate who makes her flank a solid and reliable one. In attack, she helps circulate play as well as helping it advance. She looks to play one-twos to create and take advantage of spaces near or in the final third. Whether or not the one-twos are played doesn't matter, since she also drags defenders to her helping play advance in the channels. She also has a great eye for playing in important passes, bagging a couple of assists. In defense, she helps lock down her flank by tracking back constantly. She positions herself to cause discomfort to the winger and then goes in for tackles. These tackles are always clean and effective, helping her team launch counterattacks.     Charley is a great central midfielder who helps her team attack within the channels. Her positioning, whether it be in defense or attack, provides a crucial crutch for her team. When she has possession of the ball, she looks to advance the play as far as possible. She'll either carry the ball or play passes forward to ensure her team gets as far forward as they can. Her dribbles are fantastic, getting past players smoothly. If a play asks for her to drift wide, she has no problem in doing so.     Jocelyn is a great striker who makes the final third entirely hers. On the ball, she has the ability to dribble past defenders in or near the box. If she doesn't get a clean chance to finish the play with a shot or pass, she draws fouls in dangerous areas. Since she has an eye to get into the box as much as possible, she wins more penalties than the typical striker. This also plays in her favor because she is the designated penalty taker, which has little effect on her. When she has a chance to shoot cleanly, she finds the back of the net easily.     Miranda is a talented left-midfielder who complements her team's attack wonderfully. Fast and attack-minded, she is a constant headache for the opposing right-back. Her ability to run into space unnoticed makes her a great and unexpected addition to attack. When she receives the ball, she'll do as much as she can to get the ball moving up the pitch, mostly through dribbles. Her passes in the final third are also great, causing danger in the box. A welcome strength to her game given her profile is her calm finishing, bagging goals for fun under little pressure.
