2A Week 2's Best Players

Matchday 2 of the 2A level served to start to shape the season. With dozens of matches played, many players have shined across the state. All the talent on display is remarkable, but the following were the best in my opinion.    Reeve is a great striker talent who is a constant danger in the opposing box by being a poacher. Her positioning inside the box allows her team to know where and how to find her. Whenever she receives the ball, she always finds a pocket of space to shoot from. Her conversion rate is remarkable, too, scoring from every shot she took this match. With constant great deliveries, either from out wide or down the middle, she is a weapon up front.     Raygan is a talented, well-rounded striker who helps connect midfield and attack brilliantly. Playing in a 4-4-2, she makes herself available to her midfielders to move the ball into the final third. Whether it be dropping back or going out wide, she presents a clear passing lane for her teammates. When she receives the ball, she always looks to play the ball forward to a better-positioned teammate. Her passes, especially to her striker partner, split the defense perfectly. These passes lead to clear cut scoring opportunities, providing constant danger. Her movement in and around the box is also great, generating chances for herself.     Reagan is a right-midfielder who has an incredible work rate. She makes her flank entirely hers, regardless of whether she's defending it or attacking it. In defense, she offers support for her right-back by tracking back. If she needs to, she'll also tackle strongly and cleanly. In attack, she carries the ball forward nicely, dribbling down the wing calmly. If she needs to cut in, she'll do it by linking up with players already positioned there. Her passes into her attackers cause danger, too. If she sees a passing lane, regardless of how tight, she looks to play the ball into that space.     Ryanne is a right-midfielder who excels in keeping her width and playing dangerous balls into the box. Staying out wide when her team is attacking, she allows for the players in the half-spaces to have more space when she receives the ball. When she does receive the ball, she carries it forward to a position where she can play balls in. These crosses are powerful and driven, always finding the feet of someone in the box. If it's a defender, they have little time to react and end up losing it. If it's an attacker, they receive a perfect pass to get a shot on target.     Caeleigh is a midfielder who can play either in the middle or out wide, excelling in either position. On the ball, she's very technically gifted, always looking to dribble forward. Beating defenders comes easily to her, managing to get out of tight spaces. Her link-up play helps the team circulate the ball cleanly in the final third. These plays she helps construct lead to constant chances, especially against weaker opposition. Her mobility helps tactically as well, making her team, as a whole, difficult to defend.    An honorable mention goes to <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/player/angela-fosso/">[player_tooltip player_id='194361' first='Angela' last='Fosso']</a>, who had yet another fantastic week. Her talent will surely see her mentioned countless more times this season.
