3A Week 1’s Best Players

As is the case with <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/03/2a-week-1s-best-players/">2A</a>, not all teams have played their first matches of the season. However, most teams have done so, providing us with so much talent. With dozens of teams at play in matchday one, the list of players who impressed is long. Honing the list down to five is tough, but these were the best in my opinion.    Charlise plays as an attacker for Atkins High School, and she does so fantastically. Her positioning gives her team a clear idea of where she is when they need to play the ball into the final third. It also allows her to familiarize herself with the defenders around her, allowing her to beat them in one-on-one situations. Her change of direction is very effective, ridding herself of the defender marking her. Leaving her in position to shoot proves to be a fatal mistake for the opposing team as well, as she finds the net calmly.     Karsyn is one of many talented players on her team, offering immense support as a full-back. Defensively, she keeps her flank on lock, not letting anyone past her. As much as she's imposing in defense, she's as imposing in attack. Helping play advance on the right flank with quick passes and movements into space, her team moves forward from deep in an instant. She helps circulate play out wide when the play goes wide as well. Her deliveries into the box are fantastic, creating goal-scoring chances frequently.     Mckayla is a very talented left-winger who is the spark that makes her team play. Skillful and brave, she marches her team forward by taking the ball forward as much as she can. When she's near the box, she can free herself from defenders with her agility, leaving a clear opportunity for either her or her teammates. Her ball-striking is also fantastic, getting a lot of power on her shots. This power even allows for her to have in her collection of goals an "Olimpico".     Maelie is a fantastic natural talent playing in the center of attack. A complete talent who commands her team, she leads with both her ability and her character. On the ball, she clears her path with her fantastic dribbling. She is a very forward-thinking player, always looking to move the ball as close to the goal as possible. This not only allows for her to create chances for her teammates, but for herself as well. She's deadly in the box, scoring goals for fun and helping her team outscore opponents who score a lot too. As a vocal leader, she helps organize her teammates positionally. She proves how intelligent she is, acting almost as a coach on the pitch.     Kenzy is a promising center-back talent, being a difficult player to get past. Though her team lost their opening match, her performance made it so that her team didn't lose by more. Her anticipation is fantastic, reading plays before the attacker does. She can cut out danger calmly, and restarts play with the same calmness. If she doesn't anticipate plays, she recovers the ball with strong and clean tackles. Her physical presence makes it so that the opposing attackers approach her with caution.
