2A Matchday 5’s Best Performers

Matchday 5 at the 2A level left us with many players who impressed greatly. Some players proved their consistency while others broke through. The talent pool increases matchday after matchday, making creating a list difficult. However, these are the best performers in my opinion.    Reagan makes her <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/03/2a-week-2s-best-players/">second appearance</a> in this series, proving how great of a talent she is. The right-midfielder poses a constant threat from out wide, whether through her passes or her shots. Her passes always look for a player in open space inside the box, creating fantastic chances constantly throughout the match. These passes are always driven and mostly cutbacks, making them difficult to defend as well. Her shots are great as well, cutting in to get a shot off on her right foot. She can put them either at the near post or the far post, but they always present real danger.     Angela continues to prove how talented she is once again with her second appearance in this series. She proves how deadly she is driving the ball down the middle, bursting through defences with pace. When she picks up the ball deep in the pitch, she becomes unstoppable. With her ability and her attacking mentality, opposing defences are left scrambling. This reaction leaves them vulnerable not only to her finishing attacks, but also to her creating danger for her teammates. Her vision and passing are fantastic, picking teammates out for fun.     Vanessa is a talented right-midfielder who helps her team in both defense and attack. Defensively, she offers immense support to her right-back when she needs to drop back. If she doesn't need to drop back, she will chase down the opposition until she wins the ball back. Her insistence to stick onto the opposition makes her difficult to get past. In attack, she drives the ball forward very well. Whether it be by driving it out wide or through the channels, she always looks to advance the play. Her decisions are always looking for the play to end as dangerously as possible, offering a great helping hand in attack.     Carlee is a phenomenal talent playing as a right-midfielder/winger. Because of the formation her team plays, her position is a right-midfielder. However, her movements and mentality are very much offensive. She stays wide to receive the ball, cutting in when the play calls for it. Her best attribute, though, is her dribbling. The way she ridicules players who try to get the ball off her is fun to watch. Her agility is fantastic, being able to move with ease even if she's dribbling with speed. She constantly clears multiple players at once, and she always makes it look fun. Her potential is immense, especially with her great offensive mind.     Caitlin is a fantastic, well-rounded talent at striker, proving how effective she is on this matchday. Her natural ability allows for her and her team to move forward, clearing the path for both. When she dribbles, she makes sure she lets go of the ball when the attack is fully ripe. Whether it be through a shot or a fantastic pass, her final decision always creates danger. In this matchday, she got 5 goals and 3 assists in a 9-0 win. Her vision, dribbling, pace, and movements would be for nothing if she wasn't as effective as she is. Seeing her miss a shot or misplace a pass is rare. If she does do either, she makes up for it shortly after through a direct goal contribution.
