4A Matchday 4’s Best Performers

Matchday 4 for the 4A level was action-packed, giving us plenty of talent to look at. Many teams continued their spectacular runs, solidifying the dominance they have in their respective conferences. Other teams seem to have found their spark, pulling off very important wins. With many high-quality matches played, many talents shone. These are the best of this matchday, in my opinion.    Adilyn, or Adi, plays as a midfielder for Ballantyne Ridge High School, and she impressed on this matchday. A box-to-box midfielder, there isn't an aspect of the game she isn't solid in. When she's on the ball, she looks to get the ball forward as much and as effectively as possible. These passes can go out to the wingers, but she favors central passes, which helps create plenty of chances throughout the match. She also gets forward constantly, acting as an extra attacker when the plays come from out wide. When she gets chances in the box, she pounces fantastically, bagging goals for fun. Her tackling is great as well, chasing attackers down, strongly and effectively winning it back constantly as well.     Tessa is a talented, creative midfielder who makes her team work in attack. She always looks to get the ball at her feet so that she can play a pass into a teammate in prime position. Her vision is great, and so is her passing. Picking out players in tough positions, she causes havoc for the opposing defenders. The weight she puts on her passes is also great, always arriving to the receiver calmly. One of her best attributes is her crossing, where she creates lots of danger. The pinpoint accuracy of her crosses helps the receiver receive the ball in great goal-scoring spaces.     Aubrey is a goalkeeper who helps her team fantastically when they need her the most. In a hard-fought match that ended in a 1-0 win, she proved to be a heroic figure. Asserting herself the way she did shows not only talent but character. She takes control of her box, which frustrates the opposing attack. Always looking to be the first to win the ball in the box, along with her speed, she uses her advantage intelligently. Another one of her best attributes is her long throws. With a strong arm, she is able to launch the ball far.     Paige is an extremely talented winger with immense potential. Her ability on the ball is fantastic, beating defenders smoothly and easily. When she receives it under pressure, she's able to defeat it smartly. Her movements prove how intelligent she is, even before she receives the ball. The ability she has to assert herself mentally before the player makes her difficult to defend. Positionally, she does well anywhere across attack, being able to float around and still be effective. Her passing is also fantastic, finding great passing lanes, even when under pressure. She's very selfless, looking to create instead of finishing. Her finishing is also good too, bagging a hat-trick in this match.     Mia is a talented and intelligent attacking midfielder who offers lots of support in the final third. Her ability on the ball is great, taking quick and precise decisions to create and exploit space. Staying as central as she can, she helps move the play forward centrally both on and off the ball. Off the ball, she makes fantastic runs into space that helps her get into great shooting positions. These movements forward don't only occur when the play starts from deep. If attacks are going down the wings, she gets into the box to pounce on goal-scoring chances.
