2027 California Rankings Highlight Golden Girls Academy Talent

Learn <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/how-we-rank/">more about how we rank here</a>. </p>   <p>The Girls Academy teams in California have a number of talented players in the 2027 class. Check out a scouting report on a few of the players to know below. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Benson previously played for [program_tooltip program_id='283405' first='Marin' last='FC'] in the ECNL. She is playing for [program_tooltip program_id='283672' first='Lamorinda' last='SC'] 09 in the Girls Academy this season. She is a midfielder/forward who is also part of the [program_tooltip program_id='287623' first='Cal' last='North ODP'] team. Her future for the collegiate level is the midfield. She's been an effective scorer in recent games at the GA level. That said, her skills translate well as a box-to-box midfielder. She can also play as a center back. She is right-footed, but can play on either side of the formation. Her strength is in 1v1 defending. She does well in the situations when left on the island against the winger. She has the pace and athleticism to match up against any attacking talent. Vemuri is having a standout season at the club level and was also outstanding on the [program_tooltip program_id='287623' first='Cal' last='North ODP'] trip to Mexico. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGHXKaYVhwk </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">White is a midfielder/defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='283733' first='Sacramento' last='United'] 09 GA team. She is also part of the [program_tooltip program_id='287623' first='Cal' last='North ODP'] team in the 2009 age group. White previously played as an attacking midfielder. I believe she has found a new home at outside back. White is right footed, but she is very good with her left foot as well. The comfort to play off either foot makes her a valuable asset, especially as an outside back if that is her future position. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Guyton is one of my favorite players to watch in this class. There's a wonderful combination of creativity, determination, and skill to her game. The forward has been one of the best in the Girls Academy for the past few seasons. She's been one of the brightest talents on the Lamorinda side. She is not overwhelming in her physical attributes, but the mental aspect of the game makes her stand out. She does not quit on the play. She out hustles the competition. There are countless plays in a game when Guyton influences the play with her effort. The hustle combined with her skill provides her with a ton of scoring opportunities and she finishes those chances. Guyton could end up as one of the best forwards in this class in the future. The drive is there to be the best. </p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Addy Ryba is a midfield on the Lamorinda Girls Academy team and Redwood High School varsity team. She is a right footed player. She has a good first touch and quality on the ball that stands out from the Girls Academy level. The best attribute of her game is her anticipation and improvisation. She is great at thinking on her feet and adjusting her positioning quickly to help see more of the field. This quick thinking also sets her up to thrive in the transition game. She makes a number of interceptions per game. Ryba had a stellar high school season as well. She showed off her quality against older competition. An aspect of her game that translate to any field is the willingness to make long, lung-busting runs. She will chase down any player or make the full field sprint to provide an option for a teammate on a breakaway. Ryba's commitment to her side and competitiveness will serve her well at the college level. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Savage is an outside back/midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283470' first='SDSC' last='Surf'] 08 GA. She is also on the Guam Youth National Team. She has the skill to play in the midfield, but her playmaking quality and defensive tenacity really shine at outside back. Salvage can play on either side of the formation, but I think she has the highest ceiling at left back. She is right footed, but good on her left as well. She has a knack for cutting inside and creating chances with her passing ability and keen vision. Savage's international experience should elevate on scout's ranking for left backs in this class. She also plays for the Lehigh Varsity team. Schaefer is five-foot-nine, right footed, and has excellent recovery speed. She is a weapon on set pieces with her aerial dominance and physical play - she uses her strength to her benefit. She is good with her left foot as well - she could play right or left center back. Schaefer has the size, athleticism, and quality as a passer to be a center back at the college level. She could improve on her defensive qualities to get ready for the next level. She can gamble on the tackle and rely on her recovery speed to makeup for it if the forward gets past her. She also plays on the Clovis East varsity team. Listing her with multiple positions, but attacking midfielder seems like the best spot for her in the future. She has the quality to shine in that spot. </p>   <p>Her ability to dribble through traffic in tight spaces and keep her balance under tackles separates her from her peers. She is light on her feet and dances past defenders. She has a quick wind up on the shot and catches the defender and the goalkeeper off-guard with how fast she gets her shot off. </p>   <p>Moua is on the PDP State team as she has impressed in the Player Development Program and she has been part of Girls Academy Talent ID events in the past. </p>
