Ten New Talents in the Pennsylvania 2027 Rankings

The Pennsylvania state rankings for the 2027 class will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, take a look at some of the new talents to the rankings to know from this class.    Roe is a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283429' first='Philadelphia' last='Ukrainian Nationals'] 08 ECNL team. She can play as a box-to-box midfielder or a defensive midfielder. Her strength is her ability to use either foot, good vision, and strong in the tackle with excellent balance. She needs to improve on her decision-making and pace of play. She can have a teensy to take an extra touch or two. Roe has shown improvement this season at the ECNL level and has always been a willing worker in the center of the field for her side.     Sobieralski is a box-to-box midfielder on the HEX [program_tooltip program_id='283334' first='FC' last='Bucks'] 08 ECNL team. She also plays for Gwynedd Mercy Academy Varsity. She is a technical midfielder with a good first touch. She checks her shoulders before receiving the ball and makes a good read on the game when she has time on the ball. She could improve on her strength on the ball or using her body better to shield players off the ball. Sobieralski has been a bright spot of the HEX midfield with her two-way play.     Mignon is a midfielder on the HEX [program_tooltip program_id='283334' first='FC' last='Bucks'] 08 ECNL team. She can do a bit of everything. She's the type of player who is impossible to ignore from game film. She stands out from the 2008 age group, which showcases her potential even competing against players a year up in graduating class. Mignon has the pace, competitiveness, and skill to be considered among the best of the best in this class.     Green is a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283432' first='Pittsburgh' last='Riverhounds'] 08 ECNL team. She is from West Virginia, but included in our Pennsylvania rankings due to her club team location. Green joined the Riverhounds in 2022 and has taken on a key role with her club team. She was a First Team All-State selection as both a freshman and sophomore at the high school level. Green's play in the ECNL this season has been impressive. She's a smart player who can improvise on the ball. Her quick processing and versatility stands out from the club level. Green has high upside for the position and could be an immediate contributor at the next level.     Cies is listed as a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283649' first='FC' last='DELCO'] 09 ECNL team roster, but I saw her recently playing left back. Her player profile on other outlets list forward and outside back, which is an accurate description for her projection. She's a great fit as a left back. She's got great defensive instincts and shows well in her tactically positioning off the ball. She stood out among outside backs for her skill on the ball. She can beat pressure off the dribble. She's got quick feet and great close control of the ball. She's able to navigate out of tight spaces. Cies has really impressed this season in a difficult ECNL conference. She should be on the radar for scouts looking for impactful outside backs.     D'Alessandro is a winger on the Penn Fusion 09 ECNL team. She previously played for Pipeline SC. She's been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She's a winger who plays with a lot of confidence. She thrives in 1v1 situations, she wants the ball against the outside back every single time. She doesn't waste touches. It's full speed to try to get to goal as quickly as possible. D'Alessandro's talent in the attack is going to get the interest of scouts, but her effort defensively will seal the deal for getting her playing time at the next level.     Howley is an attacking midfielder/forward on the HEX [program_tooltip program_id='283334' first='FC' last='Bucks'] 09 ECNL team. She missed a majority of the 2023/2024 due to ACL surgery/recovery. She's been back on the field during this campaign and been outstanding - even while playing with a brace. She's a rare player in her creativity in the final third and goal scoring ability from outside of the box. She's improved on her game in every month as she continues to sharpen her skills and get faster. Howley has tremendous potential.     McConnell is a defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='283429' first='Philadelphia' last='Ukrainian Nationals'] 09 ECNL team. She plays right center back for her club team. Her strength is in the distribution aspect of the game. McConnell is a rarity for her combination of height and skill. She's excellent in taking the ball out of the air and shows good composure on the ball. She can get caught a bit flat footed and too squad with her hips at time defensively, but she's able to make up for any mistake with recovery speed. McConnell has been outstanding in the ECNL during this campaign.     Varlotta is a defender on the Beadling 09 GA team. She is a center back for her club side. She's one of the best defenders at winning the ball and starting the attack the other way off the dribble. Varlotta has strength to withstand challenges and the ball control to dribble through traffic. She provides excellent service on dead ball situations and was previously highlight for her standout play in that regard. She's been a top performer in the Girls Academy during recent games.     Shumway is a defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='283669' first='Keystone' last='FC'] 09 GA team. She plays right center back for her club team. She reads the game well and anticipates where to be. Those qualities shine through on game film especially at the club level. Shumway has been impressive this season in her ability to cut out passes and shut down the opposition with her positioning. She also has a high work rate and competitive drive. Shumway should shine at the next level thanks to her athletic profile, determination, and defensive instincts.
