Five Texas MLS Next attacking threats

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The MLS Next 2024-2025 season was officially concluded on Monday, when the league's All-Star Game was held in Austin.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the last ten months, Prep Soccer Texas got to follow many of the matches played across the U14, U15, U16, U17 and U19 age groups held in Texas, getting to watch first-hand most of the highly talented prospects from the Lone Star State compete and develop with their teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While MLS academies tend to feature the top players in the region and receive more attention and interest from those watching, we were able to shortlist interesting players from all over the state, highlighting the elevated level of play in the Lone Star State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now, with no matches scheduled until September, we're taking some time to feature prospects from non-MLS academies who displayed tremendous potential throughout the last season. A striker with excellent mobility, he keeps opposing defenders under pressure for the entire time with his constant movement. Gonzalez is very intelligent when it comes to attacking the space in the final third and makes smart diagonal runs behind the backline while always remaining onside. Mostly used on the right, he has a very diverse skill set, which allows him to create and finish chances with good efficiency. Jaimes is quick enough to beat opponents in wider areas of the field, but also works well with his back to the goal, engaging on combination plays and turning on defenders. The winger also has great vision to get into the penalty box and finish chances and can score with either foot or his head. A dynamic and aggressive offensive player, he has the ability to make things happen up top. Capable of playing on both wings and even more centrally, Baviskar is an excellent dribbler and is never afraid of going at defenders and beating them. He's also very calm and confident in the final third, displaying great ability to finish chances and intelligence to make the right choices, especially in transition plays. A physical and talented attacking player, he can be deployed anywhere up top, but is probably at his best when placed as a second forward, working off of a more fixed striker. Hamilton has excellent pace, is very hard to stop when he gets going because of his big frame and can make long runs on the ball. Hamilton is a very good finisher, but also thrives when using his quality on the ball to create chances for his teammates. A lefty, he was more commonly used on the right side of their attack, using his pace and quality on the ball to create chances. Arreguin is very good in 1v1 duels and has impressive resources to beat defenders off the dribble in wider positions. He can also be dangerous when getting the ball near the sideline and bringing it inside to his preferred left foot to fire shots and find through balls.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
