USE THE PROMO CODE almasin30 for a discount on your first subscription

As part of my expanded coverage, the feature team is the [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] ECNL RL SoCal G08 team from Eastvale, CA. This team had an impressive run during the 2024-2025 season and finished in 1st place with a record of 15-3-1. Although most of the players are from the class of 2026, a few players played up as 2027 players.

The team also participated in a newly formed Conference RL2 in their first season. They came out strong and had a standout season. Their results and record proved that their conference could compete amongst other top-rated RL teams and win. The league stats: 13-1-2 with goals for of 49 and goals against of 8. The goal differential was a convincing +41 points.

The ECNL Regional Playoffs at the SilverLakes Sports Complex was their final tournament of the season. It took place from 6/13 to 6/15. In their first match on 6/13/25 against Washington Premier ECNL RL G08, [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] won in a 3-0 shutout match. In their second match on 6/14/25 against [program_tooltip program_id='287546' first='North' last='Coast FC'] RL, they won 1-0 with a PK. Forward #5 [player_tooltip player_id='202697' first='Isabella' last='Rudnick'] was fouled in the box after taking quality shots on goal and testing the goalkeeper. The defender may have felt the pressure when Rudnick made another run towards the goal and committed the foul. The PK was given to the other forward, #3 Makenna “Mak” Herrick, who buried the ball in the back netting.

The team was now at 2-0 going into the final match. It was their second shutout in two days. The mood was positive and filled with excitement as the team looked to go undefeated in the three matches. Unfortunately, just before their match on 6/15/25 against So Cal Blues RL G08, the team was notified that they had to forfeit game #1 due to playoff regulations, as they suited up an extra player. This sudden announcement definitely played a big part in changing the team's vibe.

For the most part, the team competed in the match for a good portion of the time, but the motivation factor came into play. They made attempts at high-pressing in the hopes of causing defenders to make costly mistakes or having them commit fouls in the 18-yard box. In the end, the other team was able to convert their chances on goal, and the aggressive play may have caused players to play outside of their game or take chances they normally wouldn't. Overall, given the news of their team's forfeit just before the match, it might have played a major part in the outcome. Hoping a quicker response would be taken into consideration as players and coaches would have the necessary time to process the situation.

Although the players experienced the highs and lows of competitive soccer, it is always good to have youth players learn the importance of fair play, sportsmanship, and, above all, resiliency in the face of adversity. There's no doubt that this experience will make them better players as well as better teammates moving forward.

The standout players featured in this article are: [player_tooltip player_id='202697' first='Isabella' last='Rudnick'] (2027), Brianna Dimas (2027), Makenna "Mak" Herrick (2026), Viviana Guerrero (2027), Audrey Tait (2026), and Elena Olson-Volding. The majority of the players play for Hart High School.

Player #1 - [player_tooltip player_id='202697' first='Isabella' last='Rudnick'] (2027) - Louisville High School, Woodland Hills, CA

She is an accomplished soccer player while earning a League Championship with the Louisville Girls Soccer Team (2023-2024). The team won their league with a record of 8-0 and had an overall record of 25-3. This team went on to win a CIF title. She won the Varsity starting XI during her freshman year and the All Angeles League 2nd Team award. In the 2024-2025 season she was on the Starting XI Mission League All-Mission League 2nd Team.
