Beaver Defeats Hopewell 3–0

Beaver continued its unbeaten start to the season with a convincing 3–0 victory over Hopewell in Section 2-2A play. Caleb Kullen and Ryan Perez each contributed a goal and an assist, driving the offense and keeping pressure on the Vikings' back line. Shane Ebbitt added a goal to round out the scoring, giving Beaver balance across its attack. With the win, Beaver improved to 5-0 overall and 5-0 in section play, while Hopewell dropped to 0-3 on the season.    Shane Ebbitt (#24) delivered another standout performance, reinforcing why he is emerging as one of Beaver's brightest talents. Playing in midfield, he combined pace, sharp decision-making, and dynamism to control large stretches of the game. His ability to read play and arrive in the right spaces paid off with a well-taken goal, but his influence extended far beyond the scoresheet. Ebbitt rarely put a foot wrong, maintaining composure on the ball, winning challenges, and transitioning quickly into attack. Having watched him across multiple games, his consistency, skill set, and presence mark him as a player with true star potential.     Zachary Orend (#11), deployed on the left forward side, impressed with his work rate and persistence. He combined quickness with a tireless motor, buzzing around the field like an ant and a bee, constantly looking to disrupt defenders and create attacking chances. Orend showed solid shooting ability, taking multiple opportunities when the ball came to his feet, and his willingness to keep pressing made him a constant threat. His pace allowed him to stretch the defense wide, while his determination to recover possession and push forward reflected his hardworking mentality.     Anthony Furda (#7) dominated the right forward position with his blend of size, speed, and physicality. His tall frame gave him an advantage in duels, while his pace allowed him to stretch play down the flank and create mismatches against defenders. Furda was heavily involved in Beaver's attacking sequences, making repeated runs into the penalty area and consistently linking with midfielders to sustain pressure. Beyond his direct attacking contributions, he provided balance by tracking back to support the midfield, showing his value as both a scorer and a facilitator. His presence on the right side was a key factor in Beaver's control of the game.     Luke Conner (#17) brought relentless energy to Beaver's midfield, pressing with intensity and winning possession time after time. His ability to anticipate play and disrupt opponents made him a constant presence in the middle of the park. Working in tandem with Shane Ebbitt (#24), the pair formed a rock-solid partnership that proved nearly unbeatable, anchoring Beaver's control of the match. Conner showed good vision and composure on the ball, distributing effectively to teammates and keeping the tempo balanced. His understanding of the game and willingness to do the hard work off the ball underline his importance as both a ball-winner and a connector in midfield.     Caleb Kullen was the heartbeat of Beaver's midfield, showcasing a complete and dynamic performance. He combined defensive grit with attacking sharpness, scoring a goal and adding an assist to directly influence the outcome. Kullen's speed and tackling ability allowed him to break up play, while his passing range and vision stood out, he consistently looked for the thoughtful option to advance possession. His positioning was excellent throughout, always finding the right space to support teammates on both ends of the field. As a midfielder who can win challenges, distribute cleanly, and contribute on the scoreboard, Kullen demonstrated the kind of all-around impact that makes him a game-changer.     Rocco Marcantonio (#9) led the line for Hopewell with strength and confidence, playing as a true pivot forward. Positioned in front of everyone, he was willing to shoulder responsibility, stepping up to take free kicks and never hesitating to attempt shots when opportunities appeared. His physicality gave him an edge in holding off defenders, and he showed the ability to anchor attacks by positioning himself well and offering an outlet for his teammates. Marcantonio's determination and fearlessness stood out, making him a focal point for Hopewell's offense even against a difficult opponent.     Tommy Armour (#21), typically a midfielder, was pushed into a more advanced role near the left forward side in this match and adjusted with energy and commitment. His pace was his biggest weapon, constantly making runs behind the defense to stretch Beaver's back line. Armour pressed the opposing right back throughout the game, forcing hurried decisions, and showed the work rate to track back defensively when needed. While he wasn't directly on the scoresheet, his willingness to support the forwards and do the “mission” work provided balance and effort that his teammates could build on.
