College Commitments Scout Grades

Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. Yasutake is headed to St Mary's in the fall of 2027. She reminds me a bit of a player who just recently graduated St Mary's Emma Bethel. Yasutake does her job at the 6 position with her hard nosed ball winning and keeps the ball flowing very well in possession. The Sting Black attacker is headed to a program who has a had a pretty decent season so far at 4-2-2. Dantin has a ton of potential. She has a great athletic profile to succeed at the division 1 level but needs work technically to really thrive at the next level. This one surprises me as I would have thought she would have committed a long time ago. She has all the physical tools to be a great division 1 defender. Definitely has some work to do with her decision making to succeed at the next level. She has an excellent body of work thus far in her young career. I have some style of play concerns with this one as I think there will be a big adjustment from both sides. However, the Black Knights sit at 4-2-1 and do an excellent job developing talent to fit into their system.
