Girl’s College Commitment Scout Grades

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of big names have come off the board recently. It's been really difficult to keep up with all of this! A lot of film is watched. I do my absolute best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate on your social media profiles. Her film is very impressive. She's a tall, physical presence who can spray a long ball better than anyone. She's excellent in the air winning the majority of her aerial duels as well as very calm and calculated in possession. She is a midfield/forward combo player headed to a program that has struggled this season although always playing top competition. The San Juan defender will be playing for what is essentially her hometown team. A 45 minute drive is all that separates her high school and UC Davis' campus. She has an excellent athletic profile to thrive at the next level. The Aggies have struggled this season thus far and are 2-4-4. However, they have always done a fantastic job recruiting in state. Park is a recent ECNL National Champion as well as being voted the 2009 Age Group ECNL Player of the Year. The Fighting Illini are having an excellent year although somehow still not ranked in the top 25 sitting at 9-1-1 and look like a major contender to win it all this year. She is a small technically gifted midfielder whom I think made a great decision to play in the SWAC. She definitely has the potential to thrive in this league. From my research it looks like Rothmann is not affiliated with any youth club although a dominant high school player for Mcdonough. Her film is fantastic, she is an all-action midfielder really good on ball footwork. The Hawks have a good year so far sitting at 6-3-1 and has every chance to make the NCAA Tournament. After watching her film I was really surprised of how late such a talented player committed so late. She has excellent distribution, tall and a powerful athlete who can fly around between the posts. After watching her film it is not surprising she is headed to the current #2 ranked team in the country in Notre Dame. She is one of the best 1 v 1 attackers in this class with a lightning fast first step and a vast library of moves to get around defenders on the dribble. To complete the attackers game she can rip a shot with extreme power and precision. Couldn't find much film on her or much of a resume. However, having asked around about her the consensus is she is a great athlete with a great burst of speed and plays with extreme tenacity on defense.
