Girls College Commitment Scout Grades Chapter 33

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of big names have come off the board recently. It's been really difficult to keep up with all of this! A lot of film is watched. I do my absolute best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. If you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schoolers do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate as possible on your social media profiles. Powel is a physical specimen who is tall, long and athletic which is favorable for a goalkeeper. She is a top 25 New Jersey Midfielder and has been at Gotham Talent ID centers. The Hawks have struggled a bit this season at 3-7-1 although remain very competitive only losing once by more then 1 goal. The Liverpool ECNL talent out of Michigan is a 1st team all state selection as a sophomore which is quite impressive. The Colonials are 3-5-2 and winless away from home this season. Greisen might be the most undervalued player in the entire country in this class. She has an amazing motor and a really strong technical base that is built to last at the division 1 level and beyond. I could see her having an instant impact and be an all-freshmen BIG10 selection. Corcoran has very reliable hands and a monster drop kick that consistently reaches the other side of the center circle. She will need to work on her explosion to really thrive at the Division 1 level. VMI's current record suggests that the Goalkeeper will be seeing a lot of action as they are 1-10-1 this season thus far. Surprising to see such a highly ranked 2026 still on the board but it seems like the Bobcats have scored a big one here. Her CV suggests real promise and could lead to some significant minutes during her freshmen year. She is an excellent driver into space with the ball and is not scared to shoot from distance. Blick is definitely on the shorter side of most collegiate goalkeepers but she is extremely athletic and a great shot stopper. If she can improve her distribution before she arrives she has a chance to start day 1. She is tall and long which is half the battle as a division 1 goalkeeper and encouraging. The Mocs have had a great season thus far at 7-3-2 including a narrow loss to SEC powerhouse Alabama. They have everything to play for moving forward this season and might be a sleeper pick to make some noise if they do in fact make the NCAA Tournament.
