Rankings Preview: MO/KS Top Five from the 2029 Class

The Prep Soccer State rankings for the Missouri/Kansas 2029 class will be released this week. McGuire is a key part of the US Soccer Youth National Team program in the 2010 age group. She has solidified her role as a starter with that group. She's proven her quality consistently with her club team and was named to an ECNL All-American in 2024/2025.    Her best ability is her work ethic. She covers a ton of ground in the game. She's a non-stop mover. She has the mentality that she is going to outwork her competition in every game and it has served her well so far. As an attacking midfielder, she is a playmaker. She has a great feel for the slip pass - in terms of the weight of the pass and the timing of the pass. She has been a prolific scorer in her role as well.    She is less of a physical imposing figure and more of a tactical brilliant type. She reads the game and gets to the right spots. At the club level, it feels like she can be more demanding in getting the bal from teammates as the orchestrator of the attack for her team.    McGuire is in a club environment that has produced quite a few of the top talents at the youth national team level in the past decade. She looks to be the next in line for that role and why she is considered one of the top talents in the nation in her age group.      Vassor is a forward on the [program_tooltip program_id='283490' first='Sporting' last='Blue Valley'] 2010 ECNL team. She is a 2011 and part of the US Soccer Youth National Team program in that age group. She has earned opportunities to play up two age groups with her club. The expectation is that she will continue to get challenged in the future against older opponents.    She's a dynamic wide attacking talent. She can play as a center forward as well, but she is an outstanding winger. She's got the quality on the ball to beat a defender off either foot. She catches outside backs off-balance with that burst of pace and skill. She's unreal in open space - the vision and recognition of when to play the pass and when to keep the ball at her feet. Vassor is a top talent at the national level. She's the youngest player on that team. She played for [program_tooltip program_id='283382' first='Kansas' last='City Athletics'] 2010 ECNL last season. She earned a spot on the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team.    Brewer is the player with the highest potential in this class. Her sister is a star of the US Youth National Team and UCLA - after graduating early. The flashes of brilliance at a similar level of her sibling showed up last year on game film for Brewer. She is a dominant player at the youth level and the fact she is playing with the reserve team of a professional club right now is telling about her future ambitions.    There is every reason to believe that she can be a professional player in the future. She has the mentality, skill, and athleticism to reach that plateau.      Bond is a midfielder/forward on the STLDA 2011 Girls Academy team. She has been part of the US Soccer Youth National Team program in the 2011 age group.    She is a do-everything type of player. Bond can play in a variety of roles, but the box-to-box midfielder spot could be her best. She has the engine for the nonstop responsibilities of that position. She's clearly a student of the game. She gets to the right spots, she anticipates how to help her team. She has an elevated tactical appreciation of the game.    Bond could be more authoritative defensively. She tends to play with mentality of forcing the opponent backward, but there are times when it appears she could be more physical in duels and win more tackles in the open field. It's going to unlock her game when she adds that physical component and willingness to impose her mark on the game consistently.    Bond has vision and skill. She creates chances for her team with her excellent passing. She's got a great right foot and the quality to get shots on goal from key spots. She has the potential to be the top midfielder in the class.      Craig is a forward/winger on the Lou Fusz 2011 Girls Academy team. She was one of the breakout stars of the team during the run to the third place finish at the Girls Academy playoffs.    She's tall with a lengthy stride. She is unstoppable in the open field. She has track speed and it shows up. She bursts past defenders and remains untouchable. She has a powerful shot and does well keeping her efforts on frame. She deserves credit for more assists on the campaign as her teammates did well in finishing off the rebound off her shots.    Craig has unlimited potential. The athleticism and pace suggest a player with youth national team qualities. She is one to watch from this group.
