Verbal College Commitment Scout Grades

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of big names have come off the board recently. It's been really difficult to keep up with all of this! A lot of film is watched. I do my absolute best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate on your social media profiles. The Cardinals are having a solid season sitting at .500. The MVLA star has chosen UCLA as her future home. With yet another big time player headed their way the Bruins have an embarrassment of riches moving forward. Perry has absolutely everything that is needed to be a professional 6. However, even for someone this talented I do worry about playing time as a freshmen/sophomore on this incredibly deep roster moving forward. The midfielder has been to Gotham ID events and she is quick technical player who loves a dribble. Currently at IMG Academy getting trained at one of the best facilities in the world. The Gamecock's are having a great season currently ranked #15 in the country and sit at 8-1-1 this thus far this season. Choosing Iowa State as her 2027 home. This is a trend that we will see more and more often I believe. Trent is a very technical facilitator and excellent ball winner. Barajas has a stellar resume already playing with a fantastic Legends team as well as the Mexican Youth National Team. The midfielder heads to a program that fits her game well. Weber State are 5-4-0 this season with everything to play for going forward. Coming from an excellent soccer state and program that are thriving at 6-2-2 this season. They seem to recruit well and Sting know how to develop. Robinson is a very calm and efficient finisher. She also has breakaway speed. Dziubinski is headed to LMU in 2027. The WCC is the best women's soccer conference outside of the power 4 and LMU has a history of being a contender.
