ODP National Select 2009 Roster – Girls

Teh US Youth Soccer program provides a pathway for players all over the country to get training experience against the best talent in their local area, region, and nation. The culmination of the scouting efforts is the National Select team, which features an international trip. She has been part of the ODP team for a few years and a standout at the ECNL level. She's got excellent hands, good footwork, and confidence to play off her line. Batalden is a consistent shot-stopper who shows secure hands and great quality on crosses. She's good with the ball at her feet and can be a weapon in the distribution. She is the only player from Idaho on the squad. She's a versatile player who could play any spot on the field - perhaps beside goalkeeper. She plays with power and strength. Jones is listed as a forward and midfielder, but she is a terrific defender. She's decisive in the tackle and wins the duel cleanly. On the ball, she is a clever player who can hold off players with ease. Jones relies more on her skill and smarts than her speed. She earned a spot on the ODP National Selection team to travel to Italy in March. She is likely going to be a leader and starting center back with that group. Heasty has been excellent this season and earned attention from US Soccer scouts too. She's a fiercely competitive defender who will give it her all on every play to help her team win. She can be utilized on either side of the formation or even through the center. She is excellent defensively. She quickly closes space and wins the duel. McNulty is a terrific attacking talent and going to be one that is impossible to keep off the field. She brings energy and a finisher's mentality.
