Forwards Who Impressed at Jeff Cup

Attacking talent was on full display at Jeff Cup in Richmond as well! Let's go over a few that impressed.    [player_tooltip player_id='223060' first='Acacia' last='Wright'] is an attacker on the Fairfax Union ECNL team. She is typically deployed as a CF, but is also capable of playing out wide. Her height makes her an obvious target for balls played in the air. She also has very good pace and really excels at pressuring defenders when they are in possession. The thing that stands out the most about Wright is probably her ability to drop into space and play as a hold up striker, connecting with her wingers and midfielders. She plays accurate passes with both feet, with one touch when it's necessary. After playing the ball, she shows very good instincts with her movement, finding the open space and making her job of finishing much easier.     [player_tooltip player_id='269640' first='Brinley' last='Reynolds'] captains her RFA side. In addition to playing as a forward, she is capable of playing an attacking midfield role, as she can control the ball well in tight spaces, keep it under pressure, and takes great first touches. Reynolds really shines in the attacking third, where she times her passes well to open teammates, and is a serious threat to score. She is also a very good decision maker, patiently waiting for open spaces to attack. Brinley scored a great free kick against Fairfax Union on Sunday.     [player_tooltip player_id='218247' first='Pauline' last='Maletz'] shows up in the midfield, as an attacker, or on the wing, and is just as impressive in every spot. No matter what, Maletz finds a way to end up involved in sequences that turn into goals. Maletz shows intelligence off the ball, finding open space, and creating a gap before she receives the ball. Once she receives it, she is an almost sure bet to beat the defender in front of her in a 1v1 situation. As a high level dribbler, she is able to pick her head up, even in traffic, and pick out her teammates on crosses and through balls. She is a very creative player with multiple moves in her bag to create chances for her team.     Sadie Ericson is a left footed forward/winger for her [program_tooltip program_id='283449' first='Richmond' last='United'] squad. Sadie is very quick and does a great job of putting defenders on their heels while driving at them. Ericson's mix of size, straight line speed, and side to side quickness stands out right away. She sets up defenders to beat them with a good change of pace. Once Sadie is in front of goal, she has a strong shot. She is definitely one of the hidden 2027 talents in the area.     [player_tooltip player_id='287466' first='Julia' last='Jaeger'] is a winger with really good pace and the versatility that makes her a capable wingback as well. Julia is at her best when she finds herself in space on the ball. Probably best described as shifty, defenders really struggle to stay between her and the goal. She seemingly beats them with ease, getting into dangerous areas. Jaeger is also very tidy on the ball with both feet, involving herself in one touch passes with the midfield to help her team get further up the field.     Jill Gravatt had a real standout performance on Saturday in a 2-0 win. She really dominated the game, delivering strong, dangerous, crosses from both wings and putting shots on goal. Gravatt is a physical forward with a great work rate to win 50/50 balls, and to pressure defenders when they are on the ball. Her work rate and tenacity make her a handful for defenders to deal with. Jill can also drop into the midfield or even the back line and be effective.
