Stock Up in Ohio: 10 Newcomers to Know Rankings Update

The Prep Soccer 2028 Ohio Rankings will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the updated rankings, check out a scouting report on 10 new names to the rankings with this update.    Bittlinger is a midfielder/forward on the CUP GA 09 team. She is right footed, five-foot-one. She has an excellent first touch. She can play with a defender on her back. She makes quick decisions and does well progressing the ball up the field. She was an All-State selection for her play with Lakota West (West Chester). Bittlinger shows the soccer smarts to be considered a prospect for the college level. She makes excellent runs off the ball and seems to always be a step ahead in her thought process.     Murphy is a winger on the Ohio Elite 09 ECNL RL team. She can play on either side of the formation. She's a speedy player who can run past defenders with the ball at her feet. She is good at playing off the shoulder of the last defender. When she is free space, she's not getting caught. Murphy's pace is a differentiator in this class and a reason she is a highly ranked attacking player.     Sobczak is a High School All-American as a sophomore. The Jerome (Dublin) forward earned the prestigious honor after the 2025 campaign. Although she is a forward at the high school level, she primarily plays as a center midfielder for her club team, [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 09 ECNL. She is a defensive or box-to-box midfielder in the ECNL. She is a hard-worker and competitive player. She's not afraid to commit a foul in the center of the field to stop the opposition. She comes from a soccer family with many relatives playing the game at the college level. She has all the tools to reach and exceed that level as well.     Weber is a forward on the highly successful US Club Soccer team [program_tooltip program_id='355696' first='Elite' last='FC']. She was also an All-Ohio Division I selection as a sophomore for her play with Grove City High School. Weber is a tenacious forward with a nose for the goal. She has shown her quality against various levels at the club game - including dominant performances against ECNL RL teams. She is quick with a compact shooting technique that she gets off in the blink of an eye. She's a downhill runner who is strong on the ball and difficult to stop in the open field with her excellent ball control at full pace. Weber is a player who could impress at College ID camps this summer and earn the attention of more scouts. She's been a star at every level for the past year and deserves the recognition of being on the radar for local programs.     Alting is a midfielder for [program_tooltip program_id='355703' first='Club' last='Ohio'] 2010 GA. She also plays for Fairborn High School. She was All-Ohio Division II selection as a sophomore. She is an explosive talent with the ball at her feet. She has a quick burst and excellent body feints. She knows how to create separation and has no fear about receiving the ball under pressure. She works out of tight pressure with ease. She's a high energy player and likes to play the game at full speed. There is a tendency for her to look to force the pass into a tight window to create chances. It has a high success rate for her - and seemingly results in quite a few chances for her side.     Noll is a winger on the [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 09 ECNL team. She plays on the left wing for her club team. She is capable of playing anywhere in the attack. She likes to play wide and create 1v1 opportunities against the outside back. She is excellent with her quick feet in the duel. She does well adjusting her positioning to get to an open area before receiving the ball. Noll has been impressive at the high school level as well. She earned on the All-Ohio Division II team as a midfielder for her play with Troy.     Young is an outside back on the Internationals 09 ECNL RL team. She also plays for Copley High School. She is versatile and can play on the wing as well. She is listed as five-foot-five on her player profile, but she appears to be taller based on recent game film. She's an excellent on-ball defender who moves her feet well laterally. She could be more aggressive in the tackle and use her strength to win possession of the ball. Young has shown glimpses to suggest she is one of the top defenders in the state in this class.     McCandless is a defender/midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 2010 ECNL team. She plays left center back for her club team. She plays defensive midfield for her state championship high school team, Upper Arlington. She's a winner. She makes key plays consistently. She reads the game well and is an excellent on-ball defender at the center back spot. She's physical and uses her body to her advantage. She's got a savvy approach to the position that looks like a multi-year starter at the college level. There's versatility to her game as well, but her on-ball skills at the center back spot are incredibly valuable. McCandless is a big time talent who has a bright future.     Clay is a five-foot-eight goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 2010 ECNL team. She made some spectacular saves during the ECNL Phoenix event. She's got quick reactions, strong hands, and excellent technique in the dive. Clay has shown the quality to make game-changing saves for her side. She's a hyper-focused goalkeeper who is locked in throughout the game. Clay has big time potential and instills the confidence in her team to make them successful.     Lundberg is an outside back on the Internationals 09 ECNL team. She can play anywhere on the back line. Her highest ceiling is at left back in this class. She's one of the best players in that role in the state and region. She's a two-way player. She offers plenty in the attack too, and can show up as a wing back. She's tough in the tackle and has quick feet to dance away from the duel with clean possession of the ball. Her decision-making with possession of the ball is a strong point of her game as well. She knows when to hold the ball and when to progress the ball up the field to create an advantage for her team. The Internationals standout was part of the recent Gotham FC Center of Excellence training camp. She's got fans among scouts from every level.
