MLS Next Flex U16 High-Impact Midfielders

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The city of Frisco, Texas, recently staged six action-packed days of soccer, with Toyota Soccer Center hosting the 2026 MLS Next Flex tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event featured 304 teams from all over the country and qualified 76 of them for the MLS Next Cup Playoffs, which will be held from May 23-31 in Salt Lake City, Utah.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Soccer was in North Texas for two days, and I got to watch many of the most loaded and talented teams in the country in action. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2026/04/mls-next-flex-friday-photos-u19-u16/">MLS Next Flex: Friday U19/U16 Photos</a></strong> </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>During our time there, many prospects delivered standout performances and showed tremendous potential for the future of their careers. Now, with the event completed, we're going over several of them. A recent addition to the team, he showed in Frisco that he's capable of helping them, especially on the offensive side of the game. Pacheco looked for the ball a lot and did good things with it, using his smart distribution to move it around. A box-to-box midfielder, he played a key role in the team's playing system, getting very involved in their game on both sides of the ball. Billingsley was very active and on the ball and showed an interesting ability to initiate plays with his accurate passing and also to finish them, constantly getting into the box. A very young central midfielder, he has great quality on the ball and does well in impacting the game with his passing. Pastran is extremely mobile and dynamic, and moves around the center of the field to get on the ball. A six-footer with good mobility, he offers the team a strong presence in the center of the field. Ortega uses his height very well to compete in midfield, stepping up to intercept passes in the air and challenging opponents in physical plays. He was the engine in the team's midfield, playing with good energy and intensity on both sides of the ball. Addisalem was very active offensively, moving all over the attacking half to get on the ball.
