Texas Shootout Midfielders to Follow

<p>The club soccer season has entered its final stretch, with league matches completed around the country and only a few events left before the playoffs for most of the leagues.</p>   <p>Teams from Texas will have an excellent opportunity to fine-tune their games ahead of the most important moment of the season this weekend, when the traditional Texas Shootout tournament will be held.</p>   <p>The 39th edition of the event that attracts teams from all over Texas and neighboring states will take place in Round Rock from Saturday to Monday and will have 107 teams getting on the field.</p>   <p>Some of the top players in the state will be in action in Round Rock this weekend, and we'll feature some of them ahead of the start of the Texas Shootout. Midfielders are up next:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Lujano plays for the [program_tooltip program_id='338628' first='Houstonians' last='FC'] RL SXTCL G08 team that's scheduled to face [program_tooltip program_id='333974' first='Atletico' last='Dallas'] G07/08, Fierce G07/08 Elite and Sting CC RL STXCL G09 in the event. She brings a lot to the table with her high-energy game and makes a big impact on both sides of the ball. She covers a lot of ground defensively and is always ready to make stops in the center of the field as she shields the team's backline. She is very dynamic in her box-to-box role and helps her team dominate the center of the field with her intensity and efficiency on the ball. Baltazar is very skilled on the ball and can make quick moves to beat opponents and progress up the field with strong runs. A lefty, she's very skilled on the ball and can play the number 10 role or a little deeper, organizing the game from the center of the field. She combines high intensity on and off the ball and tremendous quality, and is always in the center of everything her team does on the field. She's a dynamic and skilled attacking player who can play different roles in the attack, bringing quality and goalscoring to her team. Rios is lethal as a center forward but is probably at her best when playing out wide on the left. A defensive midfielder, she does a good job of shielding the team's backline and controlling the center of the field for her team. Sugalski is very intelligent with her positioning, forcing opponents back or wide when they have the ball, and waiting for the right moment to challenge them and win possession.
