Early 2028 commits – Nationally Ranked and Power 4 programs

Included in this segment are the early 2028 commits from California, Illinois, Arizona, Georgia, and Hawaii.   USE THE PROMO CODE almasin30 for a discount on your first subscription   The June 15th recruitment window is now in full effect.  As some players are taking their time in weighing their options, others have made their decisions to go with some Power 4 schools as well as Ivy League schools.  I've previously covered most of these players as June 15th gems or in other features.   Yet, these high-energy, top-level players are now off the board and have laid the groundwork for preparing for their next stage in their soccer journey.  With this major hurdle out of the way, they can now decide whether to continue playing high school soccer or solely prepare for collegiate soccer.    One interesting fact about two of these players is that Kylie Tang and Brooke Proctor are high school teammates at Punahou High School in Hawaii.  Brooke is the only 2027 player in this group, but proves that signing early is not always as important than finding the right fit. The prestigious private school boasts an elite private college-preparatory institution.  One of the most famous alumni is former U.S. President Barack Obama.  Aside from its academic rigors, Punahou has over 150 teams across 23 sports as it blends academics and athletics into powerhouse sports programs.   Although each level of collegiate soccer has something to offer prospective players, this group chose the Division 1 route, and I am confident that each of them can make direct impacts on their programs. Olivia's extensive experience as a starter in international competitions proved to be one of her strong points. I've seen her play at the ECNL playoffs last season, and she is as good as they say she is. Her ability to shut down offenses and having some of the strongest mitts makes for securing the ball at critical moments. She also has the technical skills to play the ball from the back and quickly transition it into the attacking third. Olivia's #1 rankings in both IL and in position, as well as #18, are a testament to her commitment to being an elite-level goalkeeper. Kylie is a dependable player who can get it done on both ends of the pitch. I really like how she delivers quick and precise passes. Her strength on defense is in making clean tackles without drawing fouls. She has a high soccer IQ and maximizes her ability to anticipate running lanes and getting a jump on the opposition in closing-angled runs. Kylie's ability to contribute on offense is a key part of her success when playing as an attacking mid. I've evaluated Aris in more than 6 matches, including at the high school and ECNL levels. Her leadership qualities in remaining calm under pressure and remaining focused during the ebbs and flows speak volumes. I feel that she can make an impact on a Brown's team looking for players with the experience, leadership skills, and competitive drive to get them to compete at higher levels. Mary's 63 goals and 18 assists as a sophomore at Wesleyan School set the school record, and paired with 38 goals from her freshman year, she is on pace to possibly surpass Addison Halpern's 180 goals. This is big time, as Addy was the 2025 Gatorade National Player of the Year. Mary could possibly be in contention for a state player of the year award next season if she continues at this pace, and I wouldn't be surprised if she did. She previously won the NCSAA National Player of the Year award. Her exceptional skills as a goal scorer are undeniably worthy of getting USYNT looks, sooner rather than later. Brooke is a standout player who plays for multiple club teams in Hawaii and Oregon. Her ability to play as a defensive midfielder and as an outside back gives her the versatility to cover areas where a player can be easily plugged in to make key stops or slow down an offense. Brooke is more of a lock-down player who makes tough and clean tackles. Her strengths are in cutting off angled runs and forcing the attack to the channels. Here are their responses.   Brooke Proctor - UOP   What are three of your strengths as a soccer player?   One of my biggest strengths is my creativity on the ball. I enjoy taking defenders on 1v1 and using my confidence and skill to create opportunities in the attack. I am always looking to make something happen whenever I have the ball. Another strength is my ability to play dangerous balls into the box and create goal-scoring opportunities for my teammates. Lastly, I have a goal-scoring mentality. I am always looking for opportunities to shoot and put the ball in the back of the net. I enjoy being an attacking player who can both create goals and finish them.   When did you and your parents decide that you would want to be a collegiate soccer player?   I've always known I wanted to play soccer at the collegiate level. Soccer has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad played semi-professionally, so I grew up around the game and developed a love for it at a very young age. While my parents always supported me, they never pressured me. It became my own dream to play at the next level. Over the years, soccer has taught me so much and brought me some of my greatest memories and lifelong friends. I do not doubt that I want to keep playing for as long as I can.   What are some reasons you chose UOP?   I've always been told to go where you are wanted, and that is exactly what I found in the University of the Pacific. From the very beginning, the coaching staff made me feel like a priority. They traveled to watch me play in multiple tournaments and states, stayed transparent throughout the recruiting process, and consistently showed me that they had a plan for me. Their belief in me made it clear that UOP was a place where I could grow and succeed.   Another huge factor was the culture. In Hawai'i, family means everything, and everyone looks out for one another. When I visited UOP, I felt that same sense of family. It wasn't just a business, it was a team that genuinely cared about each other. A real family shows up for one another every day and works together to help each other grow and get better. Finding that kind of environment is rare, and it played a big role in my decision that UOP was the right place for me.     What are some of the things you are currently doing to prepare for your college soccer journey?   The grind doesn't stop just because I've earned a spot on the team. I know there's still a lot I need to do to prepare for the next level. I'm staying consistent with my daily routine of training, strength and conditioning, running, and, most importantly, recovery. Keeping my body healthy and strong is a huge priority. I also know there are parts of my game I still want to improve so I can compete for playing time. I have goals I want to accomplish during my freshman year, and I'm going to keep putting in the work every day to give myself the best opportunity to achieve them.   What has been your most memorable soccer moment or moments as a soccer player thus far?   One moment I'll never forget was scoring my first goal after returning from my ACL injury. Recovering from an ACL tear was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. Those nine months of rehab were physically and mentally challenging, but I stayed strong, trusted the process, and worked every single day to get back on the field. It took about two months after being cleared to finally score my first goal, but the feeling was unforgettable. In that moment, it felt like every early morning, every rehab session, and every setback had been worth it. More than anything, it reminded me how grateful I am to have the opportunity to play the game I love again. Watching the ball roll into the back of the net, I felt back and better than ever.   Is there a club, collegiate, or professional soccer player who inspired you?   One player who has always inspired me is Alex Morgan. Growing up, I remember sitting in my living room watching her play and wanting to be just like her. As a striker, I admire the way she moved off the ball, finished scoring opportunities, and always played with confidence. Beyond her talent, I looked up to her leadership, work ethic, and the way she carried herself on and off the field. She showed me what it looks like to compete at the highest level while staying humble and determined, she's someone I've looked up to throughout my soccer journey.   Where do you see yourself or hope to be in your soccer journey in 5-6 years?   In 5-6 years, I hope to have completed my college soccer career knowing that I gave everything I had to my team. More importantly, I hope to have grown as both a player and a person. If the opportunity to play professionally comes my way, I would love to pursue it because soccer has always been a part of my life and it brings me so much joy. My goal is to keep playing at the highest level possible I can play for as long as I can.     [player_tooltip player_id='111915' first='Mary' last='Mac Brown'] - LSU   1. What are three of your strengths as a soccer player?    I'd say my speed, vision, and my 1v1 ability. I love taking players on, creating chances, and using my speed to get in behind defenses and make an impact in the attack.   2. When did you and your parents decide that you would want to be a collegiate soccer player?    I've loved soccer ever since I was little, but around middle school we realized I wanted to see how far I could take it. That's when playing college soccer became a real goal, and I've been working toward it ever since.   3. What are some of the reasons you chose LSU?   I chose LSU because I love the vision the coaching staff has for the program  and for me and how much they value developing their players on and off the field. I wanted to be somewhere that would challenge me every day and help me become the best player and person I can be. I'm also really excited to compete in the SEC against some of the best teams in the country. Another big reason was knowing my family will be able to come watch me play and be part of this journey. Everything about LSU just felt like the right fit for me.    4. What are some of the things you are currently doing to prepare for your college soccer journey? (Club, training, education, etc.)    Right now I'm playing for [program_tooltip program_id='283251' first='Atlanta' last='Fire'] United ECNL and training every day to keep improving. I've also been lucky enough to train with SAT Pro Pathway and compete against NWSL teams and the U.S. U18 Youth National Team. Outside of soccer, I'm focused on strength training, recovery, nutrition, and doing well in school so I'm as prepared as I can be.   5. What has been your most memorable soccer moment or moments as a soccer player thus far?    Committing to LSU has definitely been the biggest moment so far. But I've had so much fun with my high school soccer team so I would say some of those games like our win in the semis to advance to the state championship game or my freshman year when we upset a big team and it was so much fun!
